Rally Flaps for Octavia Vrs

Featured Replies

When fitting Rally Flaps do you use the existing holes in the Arch liner or do you need to drill new holes and use self tapping screws or is it like fitting ordinary mud flaps

Silly Question I know but hey it's me asking.......

Please Andy no! :o

Is that so you can say you have a modified vRS Andy ? :giggle:

Dont do it, end of.

When fitting rally flaps it's important that you open your dustbin and throw them straight in there.

The fronts are easy to fit, using the existing holes and screws that are present in the arc, and a hole that requires drilling in liner to complete its fixing. The rears are a little trickier, but mounting bracket uses existing holes IIRC.

Did a slightly better guide with pics which I could email, if you dont mind waiting until Monday when I'll be back on my laptop.

Always nice to see my car in a thread.

Expecting delivery of my Rallyflaps in next day or so, i'm intending on trimming them down as I don't want them looking like they do on my Impreza, will post pics once they're on to convert all you non believers...

Hi

I could do with a copy of your fitting guide if thats ok mate. I have had a set of the black flapz sitting for ages and still haven't got round to fitting them because the original guide is not very good.

PM me and I will reply with my email address.

Cheers

Dave

Being fair I have the rally flapz fitted and they look good in black on a blue car. Plus they offer superb protection against stone chips and tar being kicked up by the front tyres down the side of the car.

Its all down to personal taste, personally I'd rather suffer tar spots and stone chips than the humilation of rally flaps on my non-rally car.

Impreza drivers can almost get away with it because Subaru has a decent rally heritage and the car attracts the sort of drivers who would appreciate the 'rally flap look'.

Each to their own.

Get a pair of these bad boys whacked on instead...

They can look good but theres a fine line, get some spacers on on the wheels, stop the mudflaps taking over the whole arch and you can never go wrong with abit of lowering but i know this is not to everyones taste and can be expensive.

As for stone chips and tar from the front wheels, my car is close enough to 5 years old now and it does not have one stone chip past the A pillar, tar is easily dealt with, dont drive on the road while their stil laying it :giggle: or just buy a clay bar.

To be fair Skoda has far more rally heritage than Subaru!!! They had class wins in rallying before any one had heard of Subaru.

I also agree that Rally Flaps do not suit the Octavia and I do have a rally car.

Prob do offer the best protection and better than the horrid blue ones some have but still rather the OEM ones personally. (good job fitting them so evenly btw as it wouldn't have been that easy)

Thanks Fubar  It took about 20 minutes to get them as I wanted. I like the black ones as they are subtle and not in your face as other colours.
