Forge Valve

Featured Replies

im a bit confused, you say the std bosh valve is better, but you have a forge one fitted? Why?

How do you like dem apples lol

Thank you Bodge for taking the time to provide such a lengthy and interesting response. I feel you have totally missed the point, whilst if you re-read my post you will see that I do not state that the ‘O’ rings do not break up, however I make the point that with routine servicing the risk can be greatly reduced (as with most things on a car), and the wording, in my opinion still was "scare-mongering". Reporting one failure, again means nothing, what percentage of total units fail? how old was it?, had it been serviced?, was the pressures higher than standard, again, it cannot support your argument, its too flawed.

The purpose of an R&D department (as I am sure you know) is to do reliability tests, performance evaluation, costing, ease of serviceability and product life in a controlled environment representative of its usage.

So, to provide a balanced argument, “back to back” product testing is the only way to go, the results will tell you which one to choose.

I’m sure you know a great deal about diaphragm function/reliability, but to make a damning statement about Forge products and similar that you have not evaluated in a scientific way ( material type, 'O' ring composition, running clearances) is not what I would have expected an “engineer” to do, totally illogical.

Most commercial pneumatic systems use a piston with ‘O’ rings in a aluminium body and a lubricated air supply at far higher pressures 4 bar + ,than we will ever see in our cars and they get damned hot as well.

Remember Bodge not everyone on here has the same knowledge base, perhaps in future It might be better to state its an opinion and not a definitive statement of product reliability / performance, plus of course the legal ramifications if, as a result of a sweeping statement, company sales suffer and it can be proved as a direct result ooppps!!!!.

Best Wishes

NB: Your statements about diaphram vunerability I do agree with.

Feel free to reply I wont (life is too short)

Bet you know the words to "Campdown Races" as well  .

Some egos need popping back in their boxes  ... if life is too short, why did you feel the need to 'show off' to a greater length than the person who you feel dented your ego ? .... I mean listing the exact jobs you've had is just embarrassing to be honest... Team Leader ... whoopee! ....... it's just nonsense and I'm picking on you because this insecure egocentric nonsense is responsible for a lot of bad crap these days, in terms of how we behave as humans. (IMHO).

I honestly found Bodge's reply informative and technically reinforced. 90% of it was about the facts. 80% of yours was about your 'achievements' in your career.

... just an observation, not having a pop, because ...well, you're right, life is too short. :sun:
