How to replace puddle light bulbs

Done mine mate, great guide, faultless replacement with the bulbs you recommended. Thanks.

Is this the same bulb as the two used in the Combi boot lid door as floodlights when the boot is open? It looks like there's a good chance of it fitting. I'd like a lot more light than the current bulbs supply. Canbus compatibility isn't a worry for these bulbs as I unplugged the bulb and got no error from the car, so it's not monitored, but I want something significantly brighter if at all possible.

Yes.  They are W5W bulbs.

Just done mine now.

Took less than 10 mins from start to finish, thanks to Jakes pictorial

Looks much better now with the canbus LED's in :)

Next up for you Damo: lower grille guard, with a blue mesh...

Maybe fella, or just black to keep it stealthy

Nice.

Probably just go black with black trim Jake (boring I know)

Thanks for the ideas though ;)

Fitted LED's today, very easy when you know how. Interesting to see that the mirror lens in made in USA.

gonna attempt this in the next week or two :peek:

I have fitted the complete led modules from superskoda.

approx. £15 each but worth every penny in terms of brightness and no canbus issues since fitment  6 months back.

tried two led w5w bulbs but was disappointed with the results.

These do require the mirror to be dismantled more than changing the bulb and I do have pics (and a video I think) which I can send if requested.

superskoda have occasional 20% off weekends so worth registering and waiting.

Did you try 5730 SMD LEDs?

I don't know the chip ident number, I tried the four chip wedge that I think you recommended, which was good and a cob (that needed adapting to fit).

These modules are much brighter.

Swapped mine out with modules from superskoda! But I dont think theese bulbs are monitored by canbus :p

They're not, no.
