need a good set tyres for the fabia . but not sure what to go buy :)

You need a good set of alloys first ;)HERE

Then use www.mytyres.co.uk for four 205/40 R17 tyres. :D

Or, just use mytyres for four 205/45 R16s of course. ;) As for brands, I'm a Toyo Proxes man, but there's many other good brands out there, especially if you pay a little more dosh.

nice one mate

just got myself a new set of 17" alloys with toyo proxys, these tyres are soooo much better than the standard mitchelin primates even tho ive dropped a profile the ride is loads smoother, quieter and the handling has improved 10 fold, the car is much less willing to under stear than before it just grips and goes and thats with standard suspension if you cant afford new wheels change the tyres especialy if they are mitchelins you will notice a vast improvement!! :)

What rating are the tyres again e.g. X,Y,W or just V for 149 mph?

I'll be fitting Uniroyal Rainsport 1s or Kumho 712s/Ecstas when the time comes. All three available from My Tyres.

With the recommendations above, I found a set of Toyo Proxes T1-R wore *very* quickly on my previous Focus, but gave excellent grip. Don't know how the new S range fairs. And for the other extreme, Conti SportContact 2s I found were very hard and sent me spinning for grip out of junctions a lot of the time. These were Ford OEM fitment. For both these I was using a 215/45/17 fitment at the time.

I normally use whatever they scrappy have in good tread at the time.

Steve, I'm not kidding. I save a mini-fortune.

I haven't changed any on the Fabia yet mind.

I think if you get a decent brand, you can't go wrong with any of them.

Pirrelli P Zero Neros all the way for me - vastly improved braking and wet weather performance.

good year eagle f1,awesome in the wet

Yeah, was tempted by Eagle F1s in the past, have always heard good things about them. How are they wearing? What size and car do you have them on?

Steve

This time, I'm mostly using Kumho 712s

Infinitely better than the standard michelins on the Furby vRS :thumbdwn:

I had the Continental sport contact 2's on my old alloys and was very impressed with them.

I got these for my new alloys going on tomorrow, cant wait :D

I haven't tried contis on the furby, but they were pretty good on my old Nova SR... :o

:iagree: What he said!

and for the record, I've found they wear very well on my car. Maybe thats because of the puny amount of power I'm putting through them.:D

I got nearly 20K miles out my last set of T1-S fronts, and that was combined with a trackday, two of them maybe, think I had them on at Trax too, although they didn't get much abuse there. I'm not sure in all my wheel swapping and stuff, I've ever had to replace a rear Toyo due to being close to illegal. :)

If you wan't to save a bit of dosh I'd recommend Hankook k406's.
