Decided what car is next

I'd rather have the Altea than the Octavia any day!

PM me, need some of what you are smoking. Cheers.

Hahah, what a bunch of nasty color/shape freaks we are :giggle:

The altea looks miles better than the boring octy, even in yellow the altea looks better, the octy mk1 was new a quality at the time it came out but the mk2 looks like any old ordinary car, it just blends in and doesn't stand out at all.

That's why after having 4 skodas I'm training my mk1 octy in this afternoon for something non VAG just for a bit of variety.

Seat is the only VAG branch that isn't afraid to go its own way (however that now been stopped as the Toledo is just a rebadged oct)

You're wrong.

Seriously? Are you just trolling?

Isn't that the one that was in the "Lost In Space" movie....?

Personally, if the price was right I would drive that (Missus might leave me over it though - So either way a winner)

No, honestly I'm not, I just like the looks of that!

I do like wierd cars though :)

Anyone got a door big enough to wedge it under? :giggle:

I'd have it in a heartbeat, the one I pictured earlier is up at £13K which was over my budget.

The PD170 TDi is the same engine as the pre-FL vRS but with the shape, weight and 4x4 system the MPG is poor so no good for my 30,000 / year commute.

Apologies for dragging this thread off-topic with the Marmite Freetrack, the point I was trying to make is that if you have the balls to go yellow then Skoda's Sprint Yellow is a little tame :giggle:

£13k? You serious? I only paid £12k two years ago for my 08 scout! In that colour I would want some money off. £10 would be more like it.

Hence the reason it's been on the forecourt for over 12 months!

I actually hinted to them that I'd consider a swap for my vRS but they didn't bat an eyelid so they can't be that keen to get rid :giggle:

That Altea is bloody awful.

I want the new Focus ST. Yes, not a Skoda, I know......

Okay, Sprint yellow is a little on the light side for my tastes. It pops better on dull days when it's not reflecting the sun and, hey, I live in Glasgow! Still nicer than the old Lemon yellow.

The Altea Freetrack is all kinds of awesome. It's a matter of taste.

LOL, not a fan of the seat either but each to their own. You might be able to get it cheaper if its been sat 12 months, but I can imagine it would be hard to sell on

:giggle: I think part of the attraction for me is that so many people hate it! :giggle:

Very Marmite - it looks like it's been cobbled together from spare parts.

Prefer the Sprint yellow over the slightly orangey washed out Altea yellow. :)

At least Skoda changed from Lemon Yellow to Sprint! Be thankful for small mercies....

God, can you imagine the reaction on this thread if they'd not done that?! I shudder to think :p

Had a Freetrack (Grey so the bumpers didn't stand out too badly). I enjoyed it for about 18 months, went well and well kitted out but a few electrical problems and MPG was not great, but I only paid £13k for it when 8 months old and 3k miles on it. Swapped it for a Yeti and subsequently a Scout, both of which I much prefer (better finished, quieter and much better MPG).

Back on track, i do like the look of the Yellow Octavia, but couldn't live with it. I would go for the originally mentioned Superb Estate 170, but with 4X4 and it would be nice to have the DSG, maybe by the time I am looking!

Maybe its the pictures but Skoda's Sprint yellow to me looks the more washed out.

It reminds me of some older red cars that have started to turn an unfortunate shade of pink :giggle:

The Seat yellow is quite bright, I spent a good 10 minutes walking around the Altea thinking "hmm, would I!?"
