Wondering if my old Thule bars will fit and what shape the rails are. The rails that they fit on my Mazda5 are 104cm to the outside.

Hi Steve, I'll try.

The easy part is 1.00m - 1.01m Between the bars, they curve slightly.

Less easy to describe is the shape. Cross section is 3 sided, longest side is curved about 4,5cm. The other 2 sides are flat, one flat is parallel to the roof, are you with me so far? The bar's cross section is about 2cm fat.

My bars that fit on have have plastic covered cable that you tension up with an allen key to tighten them on the roof bars.

If you had roof rails on your Mazda as well chances are they will fit, at least if the roofbar foots are some general rail type. At least the length is enough. I guess the only way to really find out is to try

I have a really old set of Thule roof bars and they fit just fine.

In case anyone wants to know, the Thule roof bars and foot pack for Roomsters with roof rails already fitted is: -

Foot Pack = Thule 757

Bars (square profile) = Thule 761
