  • I think Maldonado should be in trouble for that move on Hamilton. I know Hamilton squeezed him but Maldonado was off the track and should yield. However, knowing the biased marshalls, they'll do Hami

Well, Valencia in exciting race shocker! Alonso does it again, give him a sniff of a win and he's unstoppable! Good progress by Ferrari. Gutted for Hamilton :( McLaren need some urgent work on the

Agree with all of that. With regard to force india, I think thats what Di Resta was getting at after the race, he admitted his mistake in Q3 but they messed up the strategy big time this race. Paul wa

Don't understand why Vittel didn't give the place back to Button and overtake him on the next lap. Seemed pretty clear cut to me.

Poor team management from Red Bull.

Indeed, they were quick enough to tell him one of his Qualifying laps wouldnt count and to get back on it so why not in the race? Silly billys. Gutted I missed the race, first of the season i`v missed due to work! Although it sounds like the post race interviews were as amusing as the race. Hamilton unlapping himself was hilarious, red bull "it was stupid" mclaren "he was faster so overtook and pulled away" hahahahaha.

Well, Not an overly exciting race tbh, little overtaking on track, a few decent moves but the main gains/losses happening in the pits. Both the Lotus had some serious pace, but as has been the case before, didnt quite have enough to make the move towards the end. 3 Stopping didnt work for Button or Webber, the tyres held out till the end for the front runners. Raikkonen & Grosjean`s little wheel to wheel action was great clean racing, I think Grosjean is turning into a decent solid driver. Shame the same cant be said for Pastor Maldonado, who yet again managed to hit another car with a poor overtaking move. Di Resta gave him a wide birth and he still managed to run into him resulting in the Williams driver getting a drive through. Bruno Senna pulled out a very good drive imo, holding of button well for a long period, good to see him get a decent run, seems a decent bloke. Ferrari`s were slightly off the pace, as were the Mercs with Schui having issues at the start & Rosberg finishing well down the field.

It leaves the Championship still fairly open, I`d not bet against any of the top 5 taking the title with 4 being past champs & Webber being a fairly solid driver. Bit of a break now, so looking forward to the next race in a months time, Spa is normally a good race!

Buttons race was ruined by slower traffic, maybe the DRS was in the wrong position or not long enough , when Vettel had new softs he could not manage an overtake on Button

Buttons race was ruined by a pointless change of tyres, Vettel wasn't closing the gap so why swap strategies? should've just stayed on the two stopper, just lucky they realised their mistake and decided not to change Hamilton's.

I Reckon one of the Lotus will win in Spa

I Reckon one of the Lotus will win in Spa

They're doing well this season, certainly would be nice to see yet another winner

I Reckon one of the Lotus will win in Spa

That would be nice and is possible, but I have a feeling that Red Bull will come back pretty strong in Spa. Vettel's body (and verbal) language says he desperately needs a break and Red Bull have been on the back foot following rule infringement suggestions. I think they might regroup over the next 5 weeks and come back stronger.

It's also a track that might suit the Mercedes, though they do seem to be going back to the mid field at present.

Well Kimi has a great record at Spa so I could see it happening. Would be great to see him win again, followed by another classic mono-tone interview! :)

If they didn't employ some second rate drivers....although Nico isn't that bad most of the time.

Kimi has a great chance at winning at Spa but he either wins it or bins in there

Hamilton to Mercedes is the latest thing on the rumour mill.

Hamilton to Mercedes is the latest thing on the rumour mill.

Could be interesting. Don't think it would be the best move based on Mercedes current performance. The prospect of Di Resta in a McLaren though... I am looking forward to seeing how this all pans out. And who is going to get Massa's seat at Ferrari! Assuming they don't keep him for another season (I think they'd be mad to). Next season could be very interesting indeed.

Perez

........ who is going to get Massa's seat at Ferrari!............................

Most of the money is on Perez

Doubt Hamilton will go to Mercedes.

Didn't they want an all German line up.

I could see him going to ferrari.

I can't as his bestmate Alonso is there and apparently has a veto clause in his contract for teammates. Probably just media spin however

Maldonado has "done 14 laps and hasn't hit anything yet".... :giggle:

Alonso has a massive say in who partners him, hence why the whole webber deal was looking good as he is on very good terms with the aussie. Hamilton will not be going there for sure, at least while Alonso is.

Alonso has a lot of cloat at Ferrari. The fans love him. He needs to be the clear no. 1 driver though in any team. Therefore i agree Hamilton will never be in the same team as him again. Webber may be too close for comfort in terms of ability to Alonso and Alonso wouldnt like that plus i doubt Webber would be happy being a no. 2 driver ( Again ). Someone who is comfortable playing 2nd fiddle to alonso or a young rookie driver would be better. Di Resta???

Seriously believe that Hamilton is going to leave McLaren at the end of the year. McLaren haven't immeadiately come out and denied the rumours from EJ, and in fact said very little to suggest that he wa staying.

Martin Whitmarsh said "Lewis and his management have made their position clear to us", "my understanding is we're talking to him" and "I'm pretty convinced we will have a very good, competitive driving line-up next year."

To me that doesn't necessarily translate as "Hamilton is staying".

Interested times ahead

R.I.P the great Sid Watkins who died today. F1's doctor for so many years and saved many great drivers lives.

He was a great guy

Looks like Perez could be in the seat at Mclaren as they are apparently getting a bit peeved at Lewis's lack of enthusiasm towards a new contract. Could be interesting!

Perez is good but not exciting. He seems to grind out results with a conservative strategy thta generally involves making as few pitstops as possible. Boring. I still doubt Hamilton will leave Mclaren.

He's playing to the strengths of the Sauber, which include low tyre deg rather than ultimate qualifying speed.
