parrot 3100 voice dialling user opinions wanted !

Featured Replies

Has anyone used the voice dial for the parot 3100 ?

I presume it uses your phone rather than inbuilt voice dialling.

I have a blackberry 9380 and bought a cheap standalone BT hands free kit, it worked fine in the house but in car would not understand me !

So in particular if you have a BB and the parrot 3100 it would be handy, but otherwise any opinions on the voice dial ability would be appreciated ;)

I have a Parrot Mki9100 so not sure if it's the same -voice dialing is definitely handled by the Parrot NOT the phone in my case, it's usually pretty good but will not understand the word 'home'. Do you have the latest software?

Just looking into buying one atm, it would be on v5 software, I presume it can be user updated.

I think that on the model you are looking at, in order to update the software you'd need a laptop with Bluetooth -you can get a USB dongle for £3 off eBay. Parrot's update tool is very simple to use.

I have the parrot 3100 in my works van and use a blackberry 9300. Voice dialling works okay and it understands "Home".

In the Parrot settings you can decide to use the voice dialling from the hands free kit or the phone.  If you use the Parrot for voice dialling you need to record the word associated with the contact, if you do this it is normally quite good at recognizing words as they are being used in the same environment (ie the car).

Hope this helps.
