  • Mmm is that how u drive urs ;(

Ha ha yes pleased to report I am coming round

A nice long drive will do it

Out tomorrow near delemere forest,,, so some nice roads there

Andy

Ps I will keep you posted!!

keep an eye out for a white vrs estate... me.... visiting a site in mouldsworth first thing in the morning

Andy, 4 days in, you starting to love it yet? It's odd to hear people not liking their vrs on this forum. Guess it makes a change. You got any pics up yet?

Andy, I appreciate you've come from faster cars. I have too as you'll know from your other thread (TVR).

The petrol vRS has significant all round talents though. The engine does pull very well when you really ask it to. In addition to the extra room / practicality you have mentioned, it is also very economical considering it's all round driveability.

It will grow on you, trust me!

Dunc.

Well thank you for your comments

Ok I did a round trip of 100 miles today, so,,,

I think the seating position is excellent ,, I am able to lower and move to a nice position

The seats could do with more side support though?? I bet I will upset someone,,,

The weather was very poor,, so windscreen and all round visibility was excellent,, the wipers were excellent and the settings good

As I was unable to throw the car round the country roads at national limits, it did feel sound and secure

One point,,, and I expect a response,, the engine note under heavy, not full on, doesn,t hold your breath nor does it sound good,,

Go on ,,,,,,,

However overall a good strong comfortable car, which is slowly growing on me,,,

Yes I will like it,,,,!

I agree with the engine note thing as it was one thing I thought could be improved.

I guess it depends on your size regarding the seats. E.g. I find my S4 seats more comfortable and wrapped around but my Mrs said she expected them to give her a cuddle and thought the VRS seats were better. Probably because she is smaller than me. Glad it's growing on you.

Can't imagine how it felt to be underwhelmed. Especially on a brand new car.

The soundsystem in the VRS I thought was surprisingly good. Your thoughts?

Yes I thought that was good too

Yes I am a bit perplexed but to be fair fellow vrs owners it's an excellent car, I just have a hidden agenda as I was MADE to sell my rs 250!!!!!

That's one thing I really like about the Skoda range (well Octavia and Superb that I have owned) the seating positions are always good. I find I can get in a get comfortable fairly quickly without any issues. I've got an A6 at the minute (whilst the Superb is off the road) and the seaing position is awful - pedals are slightly off centre to the left so my back is twisted, very uncomfortable.

Visibility is also good in the Octavia - I never found any visibility issues with my Octy Estate in the 4.5 years I owned it.

You know one thing for sure - we'll make sure you like it!

Sounds like things are growing on you Andy? Given the fact that you say you were "forced" to sell the RS perhaps your "brain" doen't want to enjoy the vRS under the circumstances. But I think you'll slowly come round to it as you begin to see the benefits of it, like loading it full of the family without it even batting an eyelid!

No.

I don't need to as I came from a lesser powered car to this so am dead happy with the power.

OP came down in power/performance so need's to drive it on.

As said earlier in the thread Andy, get yourself along to the next North West meet. You'll get plenty of ideas there - and a few demo rides out in various machines I've no doubt :)

Yeah get yourself down...

Peter will take you out in his Octy and I'll take you out in my slow 1.4 Fabia
