  • Yeah theres a free lite copy, with reduced fucntion. The bought one is only £3 though. I'm running a wobbly one atm, but I am going buy the full one now as it appears to do boost !!

  • Let us know how you get on mate

  • Theres actually a HUD mode built into it yes, in the menu when you're looking at the gauges. Just obviously you'll have to mount the device in a place you can see it.

Which app and Bluetooth odb connector do you have then? Could be handy

Got the adaptor the other day and going to download the app sometime - Dave was the app free?

Only problem is I don't think it'll work on the Feli as although it's an OBD port on the Feli it uses an older KWP1280 protocal which I don't think the ELM327 supports.

So if the apps free I'll give it a whirl if not it's being sold to my sister as it'll work on her Seat Leon!

I'll split this thread for clarity

I just paid for the app, and the new version looks much better than what I had before.

Ain't tried it in the nail yet though lol

I'll give it a go on the Feli tonight but I don't hold out much hope.

Does it read and clear DTC's or do any kind of logging or proper VAG-Com stuff? Or is it literally just gauges?

It reads and clears engines codes, last version didn't seem to do any others though, looks like the new one does graphs too.

I'll update after my trip home !!

would this work on a diesel? I dont see why not...I'd love to see the fault codes aswell as other silly things like boost. More toys means more fun :D

Should do, it just needs to be OBD-II compliant. My old Liquid Gauge used to work on 1.9 TDIs as well as 1.8T's. I will be trying it on my sisters Mk1 Leon TDI next time I'm visiting my folks so can let you know then if it works before you buy one.

that would be great mate. I've wasted more money than £15 on stuff i've not fitted to my car. Got a set of mk2 octy wheel badges and vrs pedals sat abotu doing nothing.

I used to use this a fair bit.

It showed me which coil pack had died and let me clear the fault code.

I quite liked the track recorder function too as it overlays various things on the video. I had it showing GPS speed, rpm and boost.

Doesn't seem to work with my new phone though :-(.

just out of interest, do you lot leave your ELM plugged in over night? i was told it drains your battery if you did and dont fancy trying to see if it does!

My Liquid Gauge was plugged into the OBD-II port 24/7 and had no problems.

I suppose it depends if the ELM is constantly sending a bluetooth signal or not.

Had mine for a few months now and its brilliant!

Got a cheap android Bluetooth adapter off ebay then bought the torque app for £3. I mount my phone on my dashboard and with all my set ups on the app can basically go through all the different live stats in loads of gauges. For the money its fantastic.

I leave my ELM adapter plugged in all the time too and its never drained the battery. So my guess is it doesn't work unless the engines on.

Overall great piece of kit and the fact itshows the actual live ecu info is brill.

Can you get it to display just a boost gauge and project (ie reflect) it onto the windscreen ?

ie Pikey HUD

there is a reverse mode that mirrors everything so i suppose you could get a little reflection.

Works really well for me too with a cheapo BT adapter. I leave mine plugged in.

Tried it on the Feli tonight and as I thought it don't work. Going to a Briskoda meet at the weekend so will try it on a TDI there and see if it works on those.
