  • Yeah theres a free lite copy, with reduced fucntion. The bought one is only £3 though. I'm running a wobbly one atm, but I am going buy the full one now as it appears to do boost !!

  • Let us know how you get on mate

  • Theres actually a HUD mode built into it yes, in the menu when you're looking at the gauges. Just obviously you'll have to mount the device in a place you can see it.

I took a risk and picked up one of those mini blue ones linked above, despite the black ones having good reviews, I like the idea of it being smaller so I can leave it in there and not knock it with my knee while getting in and out. Hopefully it works all the same! If not I'll throw it in the bin and get a black one

I've managed without it for years but now as everybody else has said, I've read about it and I can't wait to get it!

I hope your risk pays off, as I ordered the same one last night, hopefully it works the same as the black one..

So did these small blue ones work OK on a MK 1?

will hopefully let you know tomorrow, think my postman decided to have the day off today, scared of the snow..

Same here, might have mine tonight or tomorrow, will let you know how I get on!

Not tried mine yet on my Octavia. Worked fine on the Cordoba but not sure on the MK2 Octy.

Phil

The micro version arrived today, just tried it, and as far as I can tell it works perfectly

cant really go for a drive as my roads like an icerink, but it connected fine, and done all the checks, and it recorded 0 errors,

my only concern is it said no ecu faults, yet I have a warning on my dash for what I believe is brake pads, (they are fine but the sensor is apparently loose or not working) not sure if this should of showed up,

As far as I can tell it only does engine faults, that would come under brakes

in that case, its working perfectly... cant argue for £11 rather impressed with it to be honest

just need to find the boost part

Good to hear it works! Mine hasn't arrived yet :wonder:

That's all I'd be interested in too haha BOOOOOOST

and intake temps, I want to see if the vents I cut in the wheel arch help the SMIC keep intake temps down, I'll have to block them again to find out :giggle: got a few other things in mind to improve cooling as well and it would be great to actually produce measurable differences. I know I can do this on VCDS but never fancied it.

I got the boost gauge up, and found the temp settings aswell, cant wait for this snow to melt so I can go and have a play now...

With the outside temps the same way they are now you won't know till it warms up lol

I got it yesterday and it works with my Polo 9n3, so I can only assume it will work with the Furby crew too  and it hides away in the OBD port with no risk of being knocked out with my knee, so it's a much more compact functional option.

Although I can't get the boost gauge to zero with the ignition on, it's always at 14.2 even with the adjustment set at -14.2 to compensate :@

I have just ordered one too, been meaning to pick one up for ages but never got round to it.

Hopefully wont take too long to arrive and I can have a play around with it.

Mine arrived today and works fine with the free version and its surprisingly good. Will now purchase the Pro version.

Used the Elm327 Super mini blue one as linked above with Samsung Galaxy Ace.

Only thing i would add is that i might break off the retaining clip on the reader as its a right pain to disconnect and

I don't want to leave it there permanently to avoid extra battery drain. its a very tight snug fit and disapears into the

recess which is great for not catching it with your leg but means you can;t get your fingers round it to pull it back out.

This might be only on the MKII though.

mines been plugged in since I got it, cars not ran because of the snow for 5 days, started it today and it fired up 1st time.. Im sure someone said they dont drain power unless the ignition is actually on

Red LED is on on mine ignition or not

Takes 21/2 to 3 weeks for it to drain a battery enough so the car won't start. Found out the hard way lol

Hi guys, I've just bought the elm 327 and I'm tying to connect it to my nexus 7 but can't even get a connection :-(. I'm wondering if its a port problem... What port do they use please?

It's for a mk1 octy vrs.

Thanks

Scrap the above. For anyone that can't connect with this device try turning off the wifi connectin to the tablet first. That is what worked for me.

Now I just need to sort out the paid version to get boost to show up.

I have bought one of these and the paid version of the app. I got the full size version. When connected to the OBD port the reader cannot connect to the ECU. There are lights of various colours but no connection. I also tried it in my wife's Leon Mk1 and it connected fine. My octy is 2000 1.9 TDI AHU engine . I also managed to connect VCDS to the car yesterday but it wouldn't connect to the engine. Am I missing something?

I guess its due to the cars age. Obdii was brought in 2003-2004
