  • Yeah theres a free lite copy, with reduced fucntion. The bought one is only £3 though. I'm running a wobbly one atm, but I am going buy the full one now as it appears to do boost !!

  • Let us know how you get on mate

  • Theres actually a HUD mode built into it yes, in the menu when you're looking at the gauges. Just obviously you'll have to mount the device in a place you can see it.

Mines a 2004 vrs - should it work on that?

Read it could be due to the ics software on the phone whatever that is!!

I tried on 2 smartphones,mine and seller's....failed

mines the sam elm adapter, works brilliant on mine, friends 2000 golf, 05 pug 307, failed on 2001 polo tdi

Should it say querying?

have you been into settings and gone through to set it up? have you set a profile?

My phone has ICS (Android 4.x) and works fine - recently upgraded from Android 2.3.

Also a 2004 vRS

I'm also on ICS and works fine.

Very handy to have. Read my friends 06 Leon 1.9TDI PD105 to check for faults as he has been getting a "chugging" when going up hills.

Should it be saying quering constantly though guys?

I have 3 neon blue symbols on the phone, it says connected but the only dial working is the speedo and i have one of them already!!

Cant see that option on the lite version...

It works on my 01vrs auq with the mrs galaxy s2.

pro is under £3 i would just try that

I brought the cheap BT device off ebay and paired with my Galaxy S3, I had the free Torque app but after 5 minutes of using it I immendiately upgraded to the paid version, cannot even compare them, the free version is like a demo! Works on my VRS, ST220, Fiesta ZS AND my 2008 Transit! You can have profiles to suit each vehicle, so many options to keep you amused, best app on the market IMO.

Just in case anybody else finds this on the search (like I did) and is wondering about it, I just took the plunge.

Bought the same adapter as several people here (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Android-Torque-Car-ELM-327-OBD2-OBDII-Bluetooth-Diagnostic-Interface-CAN-BUS-/110761891151?pt=UK_Diagnostic_Tools_Equipment&hash=item19c9ec554f) and just plugged it in to my vRS (Mk1) and it connected to the free Torque app first time. Tested it with a rev counter and worked beautifully.

So if you're not sure, do it. It was like £12!

For those of you who've been using Torque for a while, what do you use it mostly for? And what does the Pro version offer me?

I use mine for accurate GPS, coolant temp and intake readings most of the time. Then also measuring boost if I'm feeling childish. Haha.

Just paid for Pro. It's the first app I've EVER paid for!

Does anyone else get Voltage? Am I missing something?

Iv'e been looking into getting one of these but on some sites it says not compatible with Octavia 1Z (which Ross tech lists as the 2.0 tfsi) which i think is my cars chasis number although can't remember. I would buy one of these bt adapters tomorrow and the Pro version of torque if only someone could confirm it is compatible with my cars (2.0TFSI and 170 TDI CR) Most of the comments above are all for the Mk1 though. Any ideas?

Good point, I didn't notice this was the Octavia Mk 1 forum.

I took a risk and picked up one of those mini blue ones linked above, despite the black ones having good reviews, I like the idea of it being smaller so I can leave it in there and not knock it with my knee while getting in and out. Hopefully it works all the same! If not I'll throw it in the bin and get a black one

I've managed without it for years but now as everybody else has said, I've read about it and I can't wait to get it!

I hope your risk pays off, as I ordered the same one last night, hopefully it works the same as the black one..

Cool, and if it works for me then chances are it'll work for the Fabias on here too.

Come on wheres all the tech's will it work with a mkii?
