That Driving Music

Featured Replies

Ok, just a bit of light hearted fun really. Not being much of a radio man in the car I tend to have various cd's on whilst out and about. I must admit certain tracks can affect the manner/style of my driving, albeit not dangerously. Any other members influenced in the same way and if so what tracks are the culprits? No actual admission of driving traits necessary on this one, especially if speed limits have on occasions been, shall we say, just a little compromised!

Driving in the middle of night to --- speedway at Nazareth

This

Makes me aim for country roads! Even if it comes on random on t'old iPood no matter what i'm doing, aim for the nearest windy road and go for it.

But, it's from the soundtrack to Wipeout so I think there's something subliminal mixed in somewhere xD

Slipknot. Very bad to drive to!

It's never a good idea to push your fingers into your eyes whilst driving, I don't care what the song says is cool =P

But it's the only thing that slowly stops the ache!

:giggle:

Trust me it's not.

That darned Corey Taylor always trying to plant lies in the minds of people, if you take Paracetamol or Aspirin it stops the ache as well, and with an absolute minimal risk of blinding xD

Prodigy - Firestarter, not good for fuel economy.

Motorhead - Ace of Spades, not good for fuel economy

Nirvana - Breed, Bad for fuel economy and pretty much everyone else on the road

I find I drive much faster when the wife puts one of her CDs in - just to make the music stop quicker :)

My fiancée doesn't get to choose very often, but I've had that. Mostly though she likes much of the same stuff as me.

Aspman, I'd agree with those, they have all had an effect on my driving in the past.

Another for me is

Matt

I cant open the first video on my phone but the other are complete sh!te! Come on do people actually listen to such dribble as fire starter etc? I would rather cut both my ears off!

Ah, Newport's very on Skindred! I'm sure that song was on a Need for Speed game? Underground maybe? Superb Static-X track on that game, too!

But where will you keep your half-smoked cigs?

My music for driving fast is a bit random, some is worse for it than others and my music taste has changed massively over the last 10-15 years. Think the most dangerous for me is Muse - Hysteria and I have to avoid that on the way to work. Lot of Pendulum stuff makes me drive fast too especially Slam, Blood Sugar, Granite, Propane Nightmares, The Tempest.

Recently from younger days I rediscovered Initial D. Used to love the Europop style music at the time and certain tracks do make me drive faster. Bit odd playing that in a Skoda though :giggle:

Pendulum always make me do bad things. Especially Slam and Blood Sugar! I saw them live in my first year of uni whilst bezzing my tits off... perfect. :)

Love the Initial D music, got any mp3s that could make their way across the airwaves..? The film music, that is!

My personal all-time 'bad boy' driving music is Queens of the Stone Age. Millionaire, Go With The Flow, No One Knows, First It Giveth, Misfit Love, Better Living Through Chemistry, I'm Designer, In My Head... I'm a big fukken' fan.

Um...

Beasty boys - Sabotage, bad for mpg

Soundgarden - Jesus Christ pose, bad for mpg

Rage Against the Machine, it's all bad for mpg

Seas Sick Steve slows me down a bit.

Oasis and Pulp don't do too much damage

Maybe the Gov should change their signs from "slow down and save petrol" to "change CD and save petrol".

But then the weird thing is, Audioslave doesn't really have the same effect, like "Gasoline" is meant to be somehow related to driving dooper fast and yet, it's one of those tracks that I skip to try and find something more exciting.

I think with those tracks it should probably be called

"Now that's what I call a notice of intended prosecution 1"

I'd buy that album!

My contributions would be:

Judas Priest - Painkiller - great for fast twisty bits, not so good for passengers, mpg, license etc...

SOiL - Pride - not their best but I always seems to get the loud pedal going

Stone Sour - 30/30-150

Superb album!

Yeah that's probably nearer the mark or 'rinse your tank 1'.

But it's made of all the things I have to take ......

QOTSA, songs for the deaf is a masterpiece imo.

Pendulum get me moving mind !!

Most of the above have the same effect
