The mongrel's track outing Castle Combe 28/4/12

I think that red fabia needs some new remapping, and I told the owner as such. It shouldn't smoke THAT much,

Yes Jason,I remember we spoke about my `smoke` :wonder: I`m leaving work early on Friday as I`ve booked in with Jabba .hopefully it will be sorted ....ready for a less smoky Monday :)

I went past about six or so cars on the first lap, after that I had clear road and was putting in some consistant lap times.

We were going for it and don't think the Yeti had much more to give, as shown by the body roll in some of the photos.

My passenger did make a comment about body roll after the first high speed corner. :D

We got overtaken by a black Fabia VRS on lap one and another on lap four, that was all. And I get the impression neither of those were standard so we really weren't hanging about!

So considering the track was not that damp and we were in a standard car I have to say I'm really, really impressed with the Yeti.

Not bad for a car that can tow 2000kg and do a bit of offroading with a nice view. :giggle:

Why did I think you were taking the vRS?

Anyway, the Yeti is much more fun especially in damp conditions like we had last September. I was really impressed with the Yeti as well. Have you any in car footage?

I was planning to take the VRS, but the Yeti seemed more sensible with the potential weather conditions.

My VRS only has 888 semi-slicks. I don't have any other tyres for it.

As it turned out, we had heavy rain all the way there and most of the way back, so I made the right choice taking the Yeti. Although the rain did stop four hours before the track session so it was pretty dry for the 15 minutes we were blasting round.

While the VRS would have been quicker we had an absolute blast in the Yeti. It was great fun.

There is something very nice about turning up in a car that should be quite slow and then surprising people.

I've got some in car footage (front and back like you) but I have not uploaded most of it because it needs editing.

With two of us in the Yeti, rolling round the corners and overtaking a few VRSs there was quite a bit of screaming and swearing. It needs a bit lot of editing. :giggle:

Don't bother editing just stick a nsfw tag on it and job done
