Autocar

Featured Replies

I bought Autocar today, the 124 page 4*4 special, wondering if a Yeti might get a mensh.

I will never buy Autocar again.

And not just because the Yeti had been forgotten, either.

Sheesh!

So we're other soft readers mentioned?

Ooh, let me guess....

Ah, yes Autocar - who said back in 2009:

"In the high-spec trim of our 2.0 TDI 140 Elegance test car the Yeti is an expensive proposition, asking you to pay the same price as many bigger models – including Skoda’s own excellent Superb. This, together with the high level of initial depreciation, makes this a rare example of a Skoda offering fairly poor value for money." So 75% retained value after 3 years/45,000 miles is high, then?

They also suggested a Golf would be better value. A Golf with the same engine, gearbox and similar specification to our recently-ordered Yeti would today be around £1500 more expensive - and it would be smaller inside, less versatile and lack 4wd, xenons and HFS (not even available as options) amongst other things.

I think we'll make our own minds up thank you, Mr. Autocar.
