Water Leak, is this a design issue.

Featured Replies

Has anyone experience of water ingress into front passenger footwell of a 2003 Superb due to the drain hole under the battery housing being blocked & causing water to overflow into the car with failure of electrics & computer systems to the tune of £1000 for repairs from a Skoda agent. I feel this is a design issue/ problem & Skoda should pick up the tab, they have taken the rubber grommett out to prevent it hapening again but want me to pay the bill. Very interested to hear if anyone else has had similar problem.

Wrong forum?

Fabia 1's leak like tea bags, just go mad with the silicone.

Look for water jets: screen jets in the search function. A well known issue and well documented here including fixes, welcome to Briskoda :)

After all this rain I have a puddle in my passenger footwell. I need to do some investigating.

Not that I know but I'm suspecting there's been a problem for a while as all during winter I had to defrost the inside of my windows as well as the outside. Time to find out more info.

I had a passt B5 with the same issue. I fitted a long cable tie, so it was hanging through the drain hole under the battery, and just gave it a jiggle every few weeks to make sure the drain hole remained clear.
