Well it's Goodbye from me....

Featured Replies

Folks,

Just a short note to say cherio, and thanks to all the helpful people on here like rob e, daz_pd, Wardy, the chap from Norway with the blue estate that I have forgotten the name of (Stamsaas?) etc.

My Octy was traded in this morning against a nice Green Focus RS, was a bit sad to see it go but kinda "fell out of love" with it for a variety of reasons I won't bore you with. The trade-in price was conditional on the VMRs being kept on unfortunately but I will be putting a For Sale thread on here in appropriate section in the next few days for my 18" Neptune wheels with tyres. Just thought I would say cherio & thanks again in this section.

Best of luck to everyone and who knows, I may grace these fantastic pages again one day in the future!

Andy

Just cos you've switched marques, doesn't mean you're not welcome.

Best of luck with the new motor matey. Lets see some pics too.

:)

I was thinking about changing my car but i don't know if i'm gonna go for another octy rs.Would be interested to know how you get on with that Ford RS,i was even thinking about going back to Subaru,i miss the STI.I was watching an old episode of top gear from 2003 on netflix, and it was the one where Clarkson is test driving the STI and Evo in Scotland,OHH i miss the sound of that boxer engine. :'(

Nice motor!

Like the idea of the rs (really like them in white and black like the mountune press one) but the lack of doors and 'steal me' looks I couldn't live with (cant imagine leaving the frs parked up in moss side Manchester whilst I'm surveying....)

Good luck with it and keep us updated.

Ps get some 30 to 70 times and post them on here so we can see what a vrs needs to be aiming for ;)

Sorry you’ve gone to the darker side, Oob (although I’d love a green Focus RS myself)

Shame you didn't take the VMRs off before you got the trade-in quote :(

Keep popping by from time to time, and definitely get some pictures up

Good luck with the RS, love the green and a great motor to boot. Always had a soft spot for RS fords. I have also left the fold and agree with you that these are fantastic pages!

Get a review up soon, I'll put one up for my new one later today.

+1

I'm going to try out the app Car Performance later that uses the GPS sensor to measure customised timed runs.

oobster you total git!! Most leave to go to a questionably lesser car. Good choice and no need to leave at all from the forum there are plenty of other "traitors" on here who still post away so just be one of those please :D I will require a lot more pics though does look spot on from that one above.

I just got rid of my skoda and this is still my main forum. I was even allowed my new car on the briskoda stand at castle Combe. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on the RS compared to the VRS.

Sorry you’ve gone to the darker side, Oob (although I’d love a green Focus RS myself)

Green and gold really really don't mix though :p

trust me,,you will always regret leaving skoda,,,,,,maybe not straightaway,,,but soon enough you will want another

You have made a fabulous choice. Oh how I miss the 5 pot warble. As said above, the Mountune upgrade is def the way to go, transforms the car.

Hope you enjoy !

Cheers lads. No plans to mod the RS, maybe a set of mudflaps and changing the blue rs badges externally for green ones. I an not (at the moment anyway) considering any map/mountune etc options but we'll see what the future brings!

I see the dealer I bought my RS from is advertising my VRS already, so if any briskodians fancy buying my old car have a look at focusrsdirect.co.uk

Was your old one 265?

How did it get that? Thats a good bhp

  • Author

It should probably say 245bhp on their site, my car had never been on the RR but thats the figure Shark state for their stage 1.

Sorry, thanks for answering,,, I wish mine was 240+!!!!

That said a blue fin is on the cards!! Has to be,,,,

Sorry a standard 197 estate is not enough!!!

Andy
