Insuring With LiverpoolVictoria

Featured Replies

back to the liverpool victoria topic:

imho, do not believe a word of what you are told re. no increases in premiums until you have it in writing as confirmation. in my experience, the advice that i have received from these insurance call centres has often been totally contradictory depending on the person i spoke to.

i refuse to believe that come claim time the underwriters won't have something to say about, for example, an octy with the 280bhp jabba conversion - different turbo, remap etc. but no increase in engine size!!!

tread exceedingly waringly and remember that the people you speak to on the other end of the line sometimes don't even know what a remap is.

my two pennies...........

I understand you caution, Huck, but the calls are recorded and the information which passes each way does form a contract and is legally binding. I will be speaking to LiverpoolVictoria again after I have visited Jabbasport on Tuesday to watch SkodiRS' car being tweaked - and after I have got something a bit firmer than agreement in principle from SWMBO to have my/our car Jabba'd. Meanwhile I have spoken to NU Direct today who confirmed that, because I have been insured with them for more than a year, I will get a (full) pro rata refund of premium if I cancel.

Like many other's - just got a quote for my vRS,cheapest quote by

We're very sorry but based on the details given we are unable to provide you with a Quick Quote.

Worth a try on the phone? Considering I pay

K

give it a go, you never know.

Over on scoobynet in the insurance forum, they are getting the same re. mods and tuning etc...

Very definately - Quick Quote told me around

Have phoned Liverpool Victoria again , and explained yet again about the remap , was again told it makes no difference , the lady I spoke to told me that up until April this year they did charge extra for mods , but as it usually only added about

right, that's it, i'm going to call them later!

sooooooo- perb!! :D :D

And I'll be dismissing any online-quotes from now on... Seems the good old phone still works best.

Mine isn't, but as I have been with the same insurer more than a year there is no financial penalty for cancelling the current policy part way through its term.

mines due on 1st of dec so gonna wait for it to ruin my xmas....

I know about half a dozen people who are with Liverpoolvictoria - although I only know it now after spouting about my quote this afternoon.

Someone mentioned elephant - I got a quote from them --

My van insurance is also due on 28 July ..........Merc 709D , top speed of 65MPH , just had the renewal from the broker ....

Just for info. Had my insurance renewal notice recently.

It's with Frizzell (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Liverpool Victoria, specialising in members of CSMA - the Civil Service Motoring Association)

Basis for the quote:

[*]Octavia 1.8T auto

[*]Me (only) driving

[*]Civil Servant

[*]Fifty-something years old

[*]9+ years NCD

[*]Car is (usually) garaged at home overnight

[*]SDP and business use

Just tried the quick quote and got;

"Your motor insurance could be between:

That's what I got (give or take a couple of quid)......I'm only paying

Adrian,

Les us know what they say. Should be interesting to see if they drop their quote by 30%

Will do.

when I used the quick quote system it said -

  • 1 month later...

Okay I'm mid policy and this always confuses people, but I, well...

Directline are in excess of 1300 quid now for my car and mods. Basic to be fair was competitive, but as soon as I added, chip, KW suspension, wheels it started to add up. Oh and not to mention the 550-750 excess...

So as I pay it monthly, I'm cancelling, why, well Liverpool victoria, confirmed what DGW, mellow et al had said, no increase for present mods, nor those planned. Discounted because of my partners union and the first time I have seen a birthdate actually effect anything. Today it''s 767, in a few days (chalk another year up to experince) it drops to 695 with a 250 excess and still protected...

Whilst I suspect next years renewal will not be as cheap, I'm saving from day 1, especially if I have a bump...which I now have to pray for a clean run...

Thanks for the tip of. Liverpool Victoria are pushing for business though, two mail shots in the last few days promising cheapest quotes. Personally I moved fast (yes that was fast for me), as I missed the barclays insurance that was equally as good by offering 4 track days (nearly 300 in that alone).

Colin,

my experience of LV is more or less opposite to everyone else.

DL renewal was

I have just cancelled my Norwich Union Insurance - that was due to run out on 2nd January.

They have just sent me a refund cheque for
