Help needed on PD engine

Featured Replies

I've tried to push injector recall forward also here in Finland. So far Skoda importer says there is no general problem with injectors, nor does they have any info about to what batches does the problem affect. I'd be greatfull on any info regarding the recall in UK,, part numbers for bad injectors, VIN numbers for cars with bad injectors or any info to pinpoint to which cars (Week/year) have potential problem

I contacted Skoda UK and apparently there is some defect batches of Siemens injectors, but not all

injectors are bad. Skoda UK cannot give specific info out. It seems to be hard to get info on to what cars this problem affects (besides "some BMN engines has had problems"). It is not fun to overtake with Ocu then you think if the engine suddenly kills on you..

Basically any BMN (170) engine between 2005-2008 can be affected (pre CR engines), Im suprised Skoda are saying they havent heard of this as its a worldwide issue not just a UK one. The part number is pretty useless as all they did was add a 'B' suffix (or something like that) to the end of the original part number which can only be seen if you remove the injector unit itself. Usually you have to contact customer service & provide them with your VIN number & they'll tell you if the car has been fitted with the affected units.

I was really supprised. It seems they want to hide the problem. Local dealer said that with low mailage and full service history, Skoda normally gives parts FOC as a good will, but only then injector fails and only to replace the failed one, not all.

"Usually you have to contact customer service & provide them with your VIN number & they'll tell you if the car has been fitted with the affected units" .. This I've heard, and if it is the case that VIN number tells Skoda if units are bad or not they must know which batches of injectors were bad and which are OK. This info would be very good to know when speaking with local Skoda people.
