VRS Brake's Upgrade

Recommended Posts

The problem with the stock-brakes is that they are weak on all bases.

Not much inital force and NOT long lasting either.

However, if your going for a Octavia vRS mk1-kit it gets ALOT better just by replacing it with OEM-pads and discs!

Replace the pads aswell and you'll have loads off braking-power...

And please : don't change the rear-brakes.

They are already too big for the car.

Big problems with rust if you drive a car how it's supposed to be used.

If you however use your brakes harder, the rust won't be a problem.

Just put 312s on mine and they are much much better, rip your face off good :). Lots more progression and so far no heat fade. Would deffo recommend as a cheap brake upgrade

Don't be so bloody condescending. Of course I've Googled it !

Nothing really showed up as a direct link to a supplier for the 1.4TSi.

Most guys on forums tend to be more helpful, less arrogant. But hey, we're not perfect are we :moon:

+1

Could also try mintex pads they always seem to get good reviews

Or for a big brake kit search for mk4 golf 312mm brakes on ebay nd they should be a direct fit:)

Would that be able to drive faster more safely in the knowledge of your improved braking ability?

No idea how someones given Location reveals their Nationality or Place of birth but yes i am a Grumpy Scostman.

I like an honest man :)

Not gay btw!

Well, if you feel more confident in braking later! Obviously not in built up areas - this is at the drivers discretion! I think most of them will use it on track. Can avoid accidents too by having better brakes.

Personally, I think the vRS should have come with 312's standard.

You know,

i think you are absolutely correct, and that is a great observation.

You sir are an articulate & astute person.

EDIT,

i have removed my abuse as it was badly aimed and very wrong.
