What can I spend my

Featured Replies

Evening,

I took delivery of a Yet SE plus TDI 110 4X4 in April and its fantastic!!. As the vehicle was far later than expected I have a dealer credit for £150 but cannot decide what to buy with it..

I was originally thinking of getting roof bars but, after an email to SUK during the delay, I got a set supplied free of charge (And my car built 4 weeks early)

I then thought about a spare wheel as the monster just has a fix it kit - but having spoken to the dealer you are talking £250+ for either the steel spare wheel with the raised floor accessory or £200+ for an alloy wheel with no tyre!! I am not prepared to pay that sort of money for something which I am hopefully unlikely to use.

I have a 3year free servicing deal so cannot use it for servicing either.....

I have had a towbar excellently fitted by MDS towbars so cannot use it for that - anyone got any ideas on what I could use it for??

Or should I just buy another set of genuine roof bars and flog them on e-bay for £100??

Cheers

Lee

There's so many options, I'm sure you'd make (real)money on genuine roof bars as so few dealers want to discount them

Have you looked through the skoda accessories site- http://www.accessories.skoda.co.uk/productsmain.aspx?type=a&id=13

Mats, spare bulb kits, nets, stuff to put on ur roof bars, you could even spend some of it on boring essentials like coolant and screenwash, money u'll spend at some point!

I put my £300 towards tow bar and electrics - left me with £100.50 to pay

How much is an official dog guard? I will need one shortly and will take it off your hands for a good price!

Out of interest how long were you waiting before this credit was offered to you?

Mossop - This is an extract from an e-mail from the dealer

Good will of £150 either as a retail credit/or M & S gift card to the same value, are available for a lead time of 18-25 weeks

I'd go the M&S route and buy sufficient bumphugs to last a lifetime, with perhaps a few pairs of "day dated" socks thrown in in case you forget which day it is.

Stated that neither these options were much use to me, so SUK deleted the RRP cost of the optional front park sensors from my overall purchase cost instead (26 week wait).

You'd get more than a £100 for still wrapped roofbars.

I'd give you £100.01 ;)

Looks like I may be buying a set of roofabrs and selling them to the highest bidder then :-)

PM'd you.

Are you saying that the discount / voucher applies for having to wait too long? I was under the impression that a 5-6 month wait is standard, my (tentative) delivery date is Nov - the order has not been in long enough for anything more concrete

We ordered the yeti on Monday 24th October 2011 and picked it up on Tuesday 6th March 2012. Apparently the credit is provided by the factory in the czech republic - dealers are aware of it but are a bit cagey. I spoke to SUK and they advised me to ask the dealer about the credit- I did and the salesman then pulled out a skoda uk document that stated the credit I was entitled to.

If your due date keeps slipping I would recommend contacting skoda UK.

My date kept slipping back so I e-mailled their managing director ([email protected]) and it ended up that he got a lady from his executive team to speak to the Factory Liason officer in the czech republic and got the schedules switched around so my vehicle was made 4 weeks earlier than was planned.

SUK then offered me an accessory (my roofbars) as an apology and I still got my £150 dealer credit.

My philosophy is if you dont ask you dont get
