cheers dude. ive ordered a glowshift gauge thats why im looking at it .................. im stupid enough to think "well if its all the same make - it may be easier " LOL

Omg never done an oil change! lol

I've done more stuff on my octy than I've ever done more to my octy than I've ever done to any of my cars, they are soo easy to work on than any of the old bangers I used to own, a lot more satisfying then letting a mechanic do the work lol

Secret is, is to take your time, see how things fit before taking them apart etc, oil filter isn't hard to get to so should be easy m8.

Shame you live far away wouldn't mind giving you a hand m8

cheers dude, thats a perfick answer :)

be aware these are only for senders by the look of it, the thread sizes are no good for aftermarket oil coolers if you wanted to fit one at a later date. You can get appropriate sandwich plates for coolers and a couple of senders, they do cost a bit more tho.

a haynes manual was the first thing I brought after I got the car lol

haynes book of lies, dont even bother with them anymore...

I currently have a couple of lhd vw camper vans from the states, and i bought an american workshop manual to go with them as the workshop manuals are so much more informative, makes deciphering their wiring much easier!!!

To be honest the how to guides written by people like bowders on here or other forums, are ten times better than the haynes manual!

i doubt i'll go for a cooler mate, it just seemed a easy way of oil temp and pressure gauge connections ?? lol easy in my mind that is

then this is the right one to get for you, just thought i would mention the cooler incase! Its really easy to fit though...its time to get your hands dirty lloyd and fit this and change that oil...no more chequebook car ownership for you!!!

can i break anything ???

well you can strip the thread in the sump if you are not careful and or overtighten it, but to be honest its easy to do, there must be a good guide on here, i bet mark has done one somewhere.

You can overfill the oil too, but i doubt thats likely either!

:peek: eeek .... scared already

na don't be, its easy, just have to tell you that so you know.

Do you not have anyone that can help guide you through it?

Give it a go Lloyd! after changing a coolant temp sensor its pretty much the easiest job you can do on a VRS. The only bit I always had trouble with was turning the filter wrench to get the filter off as there are so many pipes in the way!

The Felicia is even easier to do an oil n filter change on, I don't even have to get under the car to do it

thats why you should buy a vw fluted oil change tool, put it on your socket set and get to from underneath, no fowling of pipes or risk of damage to anything else by the filter.

I just use a strap or a chain, whichever I find first lol. Never tried using one of those specialist tools can imagine them to be easier to use. Might try and buy one when swmbo isn't looking lol
