Fabia VRS MK1 2004 Now Obsolete accoring to main dealer.

Featured Replies

I recently visited my local garage for a new air intake flap, old one had been chopped off, the bit that screws into tthe slam panel. After looking for the part on their computer he showed me they no longer sell the part and it is now obsolete. So i asked him to look at the part for the BTL engine on the SE edition. Obsolete i was told, obsolete a 2007 car?. Im stating to dislike skoda's ethnics, they only seem intrested in selling new cars :(. Are our cars really obsolete already i was under the immpresion they had to offer support and spares for 10 years after the cars manufacture.

Give these people a phone: http://www.skodaparts.com/

Just ordered new regulators for my windows and a couple other things and they were fantastic, even got some discount too :)

They may not sell *that* part but they will probably sell the one that supersedes it.

Go to a Audi dealer. Skoda don't want to know when I ask for parts. I always go to Audi they are so helpfull

I have never had any issues going to a dealer and asking for a part...?

Audi dealer orders you in Skoda parts?

Audi dealer orders you in Skoda parts?

Most of them are the same parts (most of the electrical bits on mine have VW and Audi logos but not Skoda!) so as long as you quote the part number (and it's definitely the correct one) you should be alright, but then I suppose there is some risk that you might accidentally order an Audi-specific part...

Audi dealers like VW dealers tend to insist on the number plate being provided before they order anything in, some used to order parts for other marques but most now refuse, the worst thing you can do is tell them it's going to be used in another marque.

go to TPS ive never had any problems there

I have not had any issues getting parts from Poole Audi using just the part number, do it over the phone and then pop in to collect the next day. I just say I'd like to order part number such and such, they look it up on the computer to confirm availability and then I collect.

They've always ignored the letter (version) when I ask for parts and given me the latest one, so unless it's a rubbish dealer I doubt that's the issue.

Yeah. Well the fabia is based on a polo which Audi use on the a3 so as long as its not like a Skoda panel or badge for example they will order it as long as you get the part number which is printed on nearly every single part!

A3 is based on the same chassis as the Octavia/golf

Lol, well i got one off fleebay in the end for a fiver. Seems to pull harder in 2nd gear with the flap in place. If anyone is thinking of chopping off their rain defector flap, dont do it, from my experience it only floods the engine with air and performs worse also sucking in more crap and sooting up the MAF, best left well alone. Thanks for all your advice and replies guys xD.

I ordered a pd130 intake yesterday, both parts came to under £15.

Had no such trouble at Platinum Skoda in Bath.

Not sure on the law (although I've heard there's an EU edict to this effect), however, VAG make claims that parts will be available for 10 years from the cessation of manufacture of the model - unless my memory is deceiving me, it says this in my owner's manual.

I had no problem getting a brake light switch around last August, so I guess your dealer is being daft.

As above, its an EU Legislation that you can buy spare parts for atleast 10 years. what they can do is price it so you won't buy it, or make it part of a kit.
