I'm after some good tyre black, but the stuff I keep gettin is always rubbish and drys grey. What's the stuff they use in show rooms? Is it painted on with a brush? Want somethin to keep my tyres shiny black all the time .

Best I've used is megs tyre gel. It's also great for bumper trims too. Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using Tapatalk 2

peanut butter (smooth obviously!)

I usedthe turtle wax stuff, sprayed it on and made some mess and went through it like nout on earth but the tires were certainly black

Swissvax Pneu if you're looking for show quality

Not tyre black as you requested,

but i use Tesco Tyre & Bumper restorer, £1.99, clear & citrus smell.

I buy lots when it is on offer.

(does not need to leave a coloured hue on the tyres if applied and wiped off correctly.)

Perfect for Door surround rubbers & other bits and pieces to refresh them..

I use this quite a lot to prepare sales vehicles as i dont like the Black painted look.

I've used them all - I love black tyres.

Trust me Autosmart is the best and longest lasting. It can be diluted if you don't want the gloss black effect.

The biggest appeal is the 20 seconds per wheel application time!

Here are my Octy's after just being blacked...

I use Autoglym tyre dressing when I can be bothered.

For the window rubbers and dash I use Autoglym vinyl and rubber care. Makes a big difference to the whole look of the car if the rubbers are black and not grey.

Autoglym Tyre Dressing/Vinyl and Rubber care - isn't expensive and usually get a couple of weeks out of it

I've got Car Plan Tyre Slick a neighbour gave me to (he no longer drives) and I don't rate it that much to be honest. It's had some good reviews but it doesn't give that wet look you get from the stuff applied with a brush. Seems to last pretty well but the effect just isn't all that noticeable. On the basis of that I'd say avoid the aerosol types.

What's the point?

Within a mile they'd be covered in mud again.

Because unlike you people like to keep their cars clean

To the OP....Meguiars Endurance Tyre Gel

But one of the luxuries of living in a nice part of the world, with fields and forests to surround me, is that our roads are invariably covered in mud and sh1te most of the time.

Plus I can think of much more interesting things to do than polish my tyres.

You got any pics of your highstyle? Cause any time I buy any of this stuff I'm sure it comes watered down

None of the above.

I am using Chemical Guys Tyre and Trim restorer.

Little goes a long way and the shine isn't over the top once dry.

Applied with a foam applicator. You know it's on there when it rains

though as the water just beads on the tyre. Can also be used on splitters,

wiper gully trim, door handles etc

Mine is in a 5 litre metal container.

My father-in-law knows the local Autosmart guy and got me some cheap. He wouldn't let me pay him back so I don't know how much it cost. But looking at the eBay listing in my earlier post £37 is a bargain. I've had mine for a few years and I can still just dip my brush in through the opening so loads and loads left. At this rate I reckon it'll outlast me!

What I do remember though is the plastic lid was sealed (like on a drinks bottle, when you first screw off the lid it breaks the plastic ring) so this should let you know if its been tampered with.

To coin an internet expression...It's Trolling!!

Think before you post...Nobody is interested in your negative car cleaning opinions! :@

I am interested in his opinion,

but then i will also be a troll.

Amazing how some forum members think they should tell others not to post in some sections.

Pot, kettle black!

(Trolling is a state of mind or the opinion of yourself maybe)

Youre interested in his opinion in a Car Cleaning section where he says .." No point. They'll only get dirty again" ?

You have also missed the point then!

I should have gone to Spec Savers!

'General Car Chat Section',

Post on 'Tyre Black'.

You must of lost your way to the 'Car Cleaning section'

george

Lets keep it grown up shall we.

He went slightly OT, so what, deal with it and move on
