Front anti roll bar D bushes.....

Featured Replies

Is it possible to remove these one at a time whist in situ to save time or not, i did it on my old mazda, but wasnt sure if it possible on the big old octavia

Yes, thats how I did mine, the only prob' is compressing the clamping brkt onto the new bush sufficiently to engage the clamp bolt.

I modified a long handled plier (has a slot on one part with about 4-5 locating notches for adjusting the jaw spread).

NB: Used Superpro arb bushes and lashings of copper grease.

Out of curiosity would having the car on a 4 post ramp, could you not use a hydraulic lift rod to hold the roll bar in place for the clamp?

Im assuming that your front arb is the same set up as is mine, if that is the case, then the arb isnt the problem, its being able to compress the new bush sufficiently so the single fixing hole in the metal strap that goes over the bush lines up. Remember the arb is still being held in place by the other bush.

This is the pliers I modified, nothing too scientific lol just cut a bit off one jaw.

Or just gel a longer bolt so you can get the clamp on easier lol

Sent from my GT-I9100

did mine in situ last weekend.. was replacing ball joints at same time, so used slightly longer bolts from old balljoint fixing.. nice stress free fitting :)
