How to set auto door locking

Featured Replies

On previous cars if you forgot to lock your doors using the key fob they would auto lock after a set time. I thought that was the same for my Octy, but having forgotten to do so when I got back to it the doors were still unlocked.

Does anyone know if there is a way of setting auto locking of the doors just in case I have another "senior moment" and forget in the future? The manual doesn't seem to cover this topic.

It is a 2010 Octy Elegance with maxidot.

Thanks in advance.

I think the only time the Octavia will lock itself is if you unlock the car with the remote, don't open any doors and it will re-lock .

Don't think it will lock itself if you just get out and walk away

Have a look at VAGCOM thread just below this one.

The auto-lock mentioned there relates to when you drive off, and the speed goes above 10-15mph all the doors automatically lock,

the only time time it will "auto lock" after u get out & walk away is after 12hrs. all windows will wind up, and all doors will lock.

Have you sat outside for twelve hours to check if its right

Does an Octy elegance auto lock after you drive off and hit a certain speed ?

haha I have left my car in the garage at work today after a wee clean and left key sat on drivers seat I am sure I have left it like that for 2 or 3 days before and not auto locked (2011 VRS) I shall confirm how mine works tomorrow or Monday when I next see it ..... actually I will need to leave my bike back in there with it so will check then otherwise car could be in there for a couple of weeks resting up. (its in hiding from the thick pollen in the air that makes it look green when it coats it)

Not as std, but it can be activated with VCDS or by a dealer.

Mine can be selected via Maxidot (all hail Maxidot) but I think thats just on FL's with the genius display.

Is there a cut off point on models for this? My 07 l/k doesn't have this in the maxidot convenience set-up?

The pre-FL maxidot has this option in the convenience menu within set up, along with the option to change from one unlock blip opening everything or just the drivers door.

Mike

Not strictly true, Mike.

As Eyesee mentions, mine doesn't either. 2005 Elegance, with full height maxidot and car symbol, but no convenience option for this. Edit - or the door opening option. ;)

Posted 4 years ago before realising that not all Elegance models, especially the earlier ones, have a highline central convenience module fitted from factory. If a midline is fitted the convenience menu is not there - I upgraded the CCM on my old 54 plate Elegance for this very reason - to get the new menu which was missing from my retrofit maxidot.

Rain closing and alarm chirps (ATA confirm) are also in the said convenience menu.

If you want to get this menu up and running, you'll need to upgrade the CCM to either an AR or a CB version.

Sorry Mike..........................Hate it when posts get dragged up and I don't realise it.

Although - Mine does have the highline display, but still without the mentioned options.
