its been lowered... I think!

Featured Replies

OK, finally got round to taking some pics of the motor (after I cleaned it again). Its been a week since I took it to Awesome and got Eibach pro springs fitted and 15mm FK spacers fitted to the rear.

I think the pics show it lower, definitely wider at the back...

How much this cost you, if I may ask :hi:

Wheel colour looks great. Needs to be lower though..

:)

Wheels look very nice.

Btw, one can achieve the lowered look (at the rear at least) by driving around with a box full of cr*p you probably don't need permanently in the boot.

(works on mine anyway..) :giggle:

I have them alloys on my 04 plate Fab. Really nice wheels. I thik they do them in white also but the look no where near as nice as the grey ones in my opinion.

That ride height looks fine to me. The wheels fill the arches well and there isnt too much of a gap between the arch and tyre. I dont like cars that are too low as there are too many speed humps on the roads. I love seeing people with really lowered cars going over speed humps at less than walking pace to avoid catching the bottom of the car. Too low makes for a slower car on todays roads. Even BTCC cars arent as low as people lower their cars for the road and they have no speed humps to contend with!

Ride height is perfect its the same as mine, and even i sometimes scrape over speed bumps.

I'm now looking at Bilstein B6's as the ride is a little bouncy.

Too low IMO plus needs spacers :p

It is rather low but looks nice still

Does need spacers i do agree, i cheated though, this is parked on a bump but mine has been lowered by 55mm :)

Plenty low if you want to keep it usable and fast on b roads.

tbh... I have found it better with less roll. As mentioned above, I have noticed though that its a but more bumpy, not harsh just more noticeable.

Approx £411 springs and spacers fitted. TBH not the best experience I have had in getting them done. I have had a bit of a fallout with Awesome about it, promised a courtesy car (didnt get), told it'll be 3-4 hrs, it took over 7hrs from drop-off, had to get a taxi to the Trafford centre (the wife was with us) and pay one way (in lieu of car and inc in the above price).. worst of all was shopping for so long :wall: and all without much of an apology!

To be fair to Mike (Awesome), after getting back from Worthsee he has called and apologised after my complaining email... vouchers promised!

All depends on what set up you have, mine are KW V1's and they are stiff but not too firm and handle uneven roads well. I use B roads/single track roads on daily basis and she does just fine when you get a shift on :)

Alloys look really cool. Have they been powder coated? If so how much did it cost?

Cheers

Think I'd need a sump guard if I ran as low as yours ;) looks good though B)

They made a **** up with my courtesy car too - forgot to book one in on the board. I was lucky as they found one at last minute

I'd be more concerned with how well the new damper/spring assy keeps the wheel in contact with the tarmac than what it looks like, for me its about how well it grips; how it looks is a long second place.
