Hi all I'mhoping you can help me here,

I'm having a few issues with my 08 Octavia VRS (TFSI), I've only had the car since the 15th (bought from Stratstone) and already have a issue with it.

I've driven the car today without any problems, but after parking up and doing some shopping I've come back to a car thats running very 'lumpy'(engine almost strugling to run) and has the Control System for exhaust light, EPC, ESP light on constantly and gone into limp mode I'd guess.

I've managed to get the car back to the house and will be ringing the garage first this tomorrow. But I just have a bit of a panic on at the moment :(

I live in the North East but the car was bought from the Dudley Strastone branch so I'm hoping they can get my local branch to take a look at it!

I know you guys probably can't give much advice with out fault codes, but I though I'd take a chance.

Cheers, in advance

Chris.

If youre in the Rac call them out. They will be able to run the diagnostics and check the battery.

If its loads of lights / warnings may be the battery

It's within warranty, so whatever it is, it should at least be financially no impact to you.

MAF sensor?

Maybe coil packs ?

Maybe coil packs ?

Good shout, it's a possibility.

Are you anywhere Newcastle mate? If so and you have no luck with Stratstone ill have a look for you :-)

Thanks for the replies guys :) I'm going to call the garage as soon as they open and get them to get the local branch to take a look at it under warranty there, not the RAC one they are giving me. I'm not prepaird to take it somewhere pay, then claim back, seeing as I've only had the car for 12 days!

vRS Taxi, thanks for the very kind offer matey, I just live at North Sheilds so I'll give you a shout if needed. Very kind of you.

***a little update, I read somewhere about turning the key to 2nd click and waiting 30seconds before starting the car and this is someway lets the ECU program itself or some such, anyway, I carried this out and the car now idles without issue and reves higher than 2k. I'm going to drive it to the end of the street to se if it drives ok, however all 3 warning lights are still present!***

No problem mate without looking it sounds like a power drain and the battery has been charged by the alternator and recovered, maybe you left something on? Keep us posted

So....all fault lights have gone and the car seems to be running 'okish', I don't think it's as sprightly as it was and I've had a issue with it starting, so still not happy with the car. I've booked the car in with Skoda to get some diagnostics run and anything that needs replacing..well replacing!

Stratstone hadn't put my warranty with them in place  , so have agreed just to sort the bill out with Silbury Skoda...which is good of them I suppose ;)
