Hi chaps, car in garage along road for B12 kit fitted (supplied by Lignting Tuning in Germany).

Rears fitted fine, fronts dismantled and new ones tried to be fitted but the bottom of the damper is too narrow and rattles around in the stub axle.

Car is a facelift late 2009 vRS Petrol. I assume I've just been sent the wrong kit...

May I just say "****" and indeed "balls".

Looking on the Bilstein website I have 46-182579 (50mm strut diameter) and should have 46-000286 (55mm).

Sigh.

Heard back from Bjorn at lightning, he tells me he told Bilstein it was the 55mm ones needed and is currently trying to get the 55 ones sent.

As an aside, I thought the B12 Pro Kit was supplied with B6 dampers but mine are B8s...

Looks like I'll be driving with B12 rears and OEM fronts for a while...

I'm easy to spot - a 55 plate silver estate with a nasty scratch on the tailgate and a Briskoda sticker in the rear window - often seen driving from Rawtenstall to Loveclough early on a Saturday morning to go fishing ........

As an aside, I thought the B12 Pro Kit was supplied with B6 dampers but mine are B8s...

Fairly sure a B12 kit has always been B8s and Pro Kit springs. Bad luck on the strut diameter, hope you get sorted.

Hey Andy, I live in Loveclough... Boundary Garage (just down the road) fitted for me, only charged me an extra £25 for having stripped one front down and nearly fitted the new damper - seemed fair enough really.

Should be some new dampers on the way from Bilstein today. I have to say, even with just the rears done it's a very noticeable (in a good way) difference.
