Any vRS taxi's on the road? PD or CR engines

Featured Replies

Guys, potentially looking at buying a vRS as my new work car.

After something with abit of kick plus the looks.

What I want to know is, are they good working cars for our trade?

What kinda mpg are you getting?

Any problems with doing 10/12 hour shifts & taking a heavy right foot now & then?

Customer comments, i.e, nice car, very bumpy ride etc etc?????

Why don't you go for a more economical engined octavia for your taxi job and then get a Mk1 Octy vrs as a toy ?

Currently have a mk2 facelift 60 plate which is ranking up the miles, was looking at BMW 5 series, Audi A6's something nice..... But I'd much rather have the vRS which looks the part & will certainly enjoy the drive home after my shift.

The Mk1 octy isn't very comfortable, I'm 6ft6 and currently have a 2 year old & another wee yin on the way, space in the back is pretty limited.

Ah yes I can see at 6 foot 6 you may have an issue. We have to slide the seats forward to get kiddie seats in the back. So VRS taxi for you then. Economy should be ok depending on how tempting the loud pedal is !

TFSI here got plenty of power customers comment on looks, leg room, boot space and the hard ride which I think is a bonus as it helps prevent motion sickness lol

Would defo be a diesel, could never afford the petrol.

A Vrs taxi would be cool :) and for whoever mentioned a mk1 Vrs there a terrible lookin yoke, farmers car there called here lol

There was a guy local to me that ran a MK1 VRS as a taxi, he completed over 225,000 miles only replacing the clutch twice and brakes that's it. He also comment that its was more reliable than the 10 Plate Merc he as now.

When he traded it in he still got very good money for what should have been a scrapper. ;)

Local guy in Grangemouth has a white Vrs estate CR, i swear he got it because i had a Skoda he's added tints too!!! Suppose imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

6 vRS taxi's in newcastle 1 estate 5 hatchbacks all are CR apart from my TFSI.

I actually seen this on Sunday morning, I was dropping off in the polmont area. Went for a wee mcd's breakie & spied this at the BP garage. Stunning.

A few down in p*mpey

Blue one in Bridgend. I want a blue Octavia VRS!!! STUNNING lol

I have an Estate CR vRS taxi with 18inch Neptune Wheels and i have to admit is a bit too much stiff riding in the city (Milan, Italy).

I am not sure about conversion but i do around 26-28mpg / 8 litres for 100km (if always in the city)

carlisle has about 5 diesel vrs

Went to overtake a dark grey Taxi near Slindon the other week and the ******* put his foot down just as I pulled out to make life that little bit more difficult for me! Wasn't until I got in front and saw the DRL's in the mirror that I realised it was a VRS!

You need it mapped then ;)

Hi,

currently cab a 2010(60) vRS CR DSG in Eastwood, Nottinghamshire. Had the car from new and now covered 54000 miles since 16th December 2010.

This car has not been a problem at all.... not one error code or warning light since new.

Around town I get 37-40 mpg.......this is with a combination of driving steady and caning it a bit occasionally.

I would recommend the vRS TDI CR as a taxi. They do stand out from all the other Octavias......especially in Race Blue Metallic !

And it's great to slap the arse of the occasional chav in his Fiesta ST (and the likes).......they certainly don't expect a Skoda Taxi to have their pants down !

I would say go for it......I doubt that you would regret it......also I have the leather seats.....easy to keep clean at the weekends !

There's a FL around my way that's a taxi, I have a tsi, but if I was a taxi I wouldn't touch the petrol

Hi, is that not really low mileage for a cab? I got mine (CR 140) at the same time and have covered the same miles.

The amount of ferrying about for the kids I do in my mk2 pre-fl vRS I may as well put a Taxi sign on the roof and earn some extra cash while I'm at it!!

There's been a guy running a mk1 vrs estate in West Kent for years- I imagine perhaps from new!

Go past him a lot in the mornings, must be doing a school run or something.

One day I'm sure he will be first in the rank when I get off a late night train - plan to have a good chat on the trip home!
