Hey guys, can anyone tell me exactly how many different gearboxes can fit in my octavia vrs? I know what they come out of a golf gti, an a3 and a tt? (I think) but are there any other gearboxes that can bolt onto it. Maybe for better acceleration? Also the gearbox codes of anyone has them. I'm still looking for one for my car and starting to get desperate!

Any O2j box will work mate off a FWD car.

The vRS has an EHA code and iirc is the longest ratio(petrol wise)

Ideally you want that one as all others will mean more RPM even tho only slight but over time will add up to bigger fuel bills.

these are some sites I was given when I was looking back in Jan 2011 when I thought I had a drone on my gearbox. did end up not being the box as it was still there after fitting the quaiffe box and Dave (David8 I think he calls hiomself these days) has my original box on his car and its spot on lol.

I was getting so confused and cudnt find out what was what! Well I'll try and find a EHA but I now also understand there is a EVS that I can also use but, like you said, it will be more fuel in the long run. Well Ill see what I can find.

thats what the forum is for. typical tho int it as David8 just bought my std box a few week ago after trying to get rid for months. Just keep an eye on the for sale section mate.

wont be long till one is being broken again. that seems to be the way of the mk1 vRS these days. sad times
