currently my car only gets used at weekend and the odd trip in the evening, but i might be changing jobs so a diesel would be more appropriate for work

I have had mine over a year now and only got 6720 miles on it when I checked today :( but I am playing a similar game as I am changing jobs during the time I have car I 'may' need it to be a diesel then. That and diesel here is €1.36 a litre and petrol is €1.90 doesn't help. The current generation of 170 CR TDi has to be remapped though IMO.

im guessing NL is Netherlands?in the UK diesel is more expensive than petrol for some reason, which offests the fuel costs a bit.

i say get a tfsi for fun  and a fabia 1.4tdi for work

I am only working in NL I am from the UK so is my car. A VRS in NL is like €45K due to tax system on new cars emissions etc so most people have greenlines etc.

Aghhh i'll add to this thread..

ISTR it's up to 207 ft/lbs torque, probably more than a bike?

It's what it's meant to be, a decent tourer with better than expected handling, loads of space for "stuff" & very suitable for an elderly gentleman such as I....

I keep the vRS for red mist days & borrow madam's EOS for vacations & cruising on sunny days!
