Waiting List

Some dealers have allocations and if they sell more than their allocation then you will have to wait until they have more units allocated to them. There have been a few comments on here in the past where some internet sellers place loads of orders with dealers who then cannot complete them.

Best thing to do is ask the salesman outright, but be mindful that they may not give you a totally truthful answer.

Lead times according to the sheet seem to be fairly standard across dealers recently. What does seem to be a little surprising is the very short lead times on L&K models at the moment.

Well I know it's this less than truthful answer that worries me. As I will be sharing my daughter's car now for what could be 4 months the lead time for me is crucial

It's just a lottery then?

Anyone here think that a larger dealership might be able to get a new Yeti any faster than a smaller one? Probably going to order today, but going to the smaller dealership with wait time of 16 weeks, which seems to be standard?

I think all you need to do, if quick delivery is a priority, is to avoid any dealer who deals with brokers (although that's rarely publicly announced).

My car is ordered via a small dealer & build is looking to be within 5-6 weeks of order (which seems to be not too uncommon at the moment). Admittedly, it's not confirmed yet, but at least I trust what the dealer is telling me - there seem to be examples of (via broker) dealers who have told people their build week was confirmed, when I suspect that this was before the order had even 'gone in' (whether that's due to quotas or dealers ordering at time most beneficial to them would be just speculation :wonder: )

Gillycat, tell us which dealers you are considering and I'm sure people here can give you a steer.

There doesn't seem to be any pattern to lead-times at the moment. Some on here are achieving remarkably quick delivery times, some are being told build weeks without it being at all clear whether they are confirmed or not, some are finding build weeks moving backwards or forwards and others (like me!) have very cagey (but perhaps more pragmatic) dealers who say that, until the car is actually confirmed as built, there is little point talking about delivery dates other than in very general terms. I ordered a 1.8 TSi L&K on 30 January and was told that delivery was probably going to be April or possibly early May. If it comes sonner, I'll be delighted; if not, at least I haven't been harbouring false hope.

The dealers I'm communicating with at present are Benfield in Harrogate, going there shortly and D. M. Keith in Leeds. The latter is the largest dealership in the UK...........I think.

Ask the dealer to see what untagged stock is in the system. If you are a bit flexible to spec and colour there will be a car you can have with a sort lead time.

Sadly, not flexible, need sunroof, going to choose colour today, needs to be auto petrol etc etc.......so that's why realistically I will probably be waiting for 4 months, by which time my daughter will be at university and I could have her car!!!!!!

Picking my 1.2 petrol DSG with sunroof up on Monday which is exactly 4 months since ordering - whilst I have been waiting the times have come down - but don't think ordering from a larger dealer makes any difference - I order my first one (which never arrived) from an internet company - which must use a large dealer .

The manufacturing date I was originally given, was then moved forward by a month, so hopefully your's won't be too long :smirk:

Thanks Perranlady for this info. I'll just have to sit it out I guess, but Carl has been given a time of 6 weeks...........that's wonderful if it happens.

Now just need to choose the colour!!!

My L&K is also at Emden so hopefully will be here soon.

Looks like you'll be one of the first L&K's in the country! Make sure you post some pictures when you pick it up.

Yes Keith's are one of the larger if not the largest Skoda dealership groups. However their aggressive takeover of the York dealership a couple of years back, turned a good garage into a bad one IMHO and I understand they have recently acquired the Roberts dealership in Hull too.

Been using Horton's in Lincoln of late for work on our 'fleet' of 3 Skoda's; bit of a trek but York, along with Pickering and Hull have all let themselves down in my experience, with poor quality and in some cases inept service work.

+1! :hi:

Oh thanks Plumber, that's interesting, I'll stick with Harrogate then but they also sell Fords and so had few Yetis for me to see colour wise. Will have to go elsewhere to see the colours as the colour chart in the brochure is not accurate, may just go for black as it will also absorb big bumper!

DM Keith were fine selling me my first yeti, but after sales was bad,and they offered me £3000 less in part ex against a new one over Simpsons skoda in colne, who I just ordered a new one with.

It's a trek to colne from Leeds but when your talking about £3000 makes it wort while. Give them a call.

My Yeti came from Harrogate and the Octavia before that from D.M Keith, Leeds. Other than to sort out an issue with the Yeti's OEM roof bars I've not been back to Benfields. The Octy only went in for its annual service & MOT - anything else it needed was always able to wait until then.

Mine's on the variable service, so unlikely to need to go back this year. Service was fine, but a little slow on the email front. They didn't have a 170 to test so I tried the 140, and not many colours either. Fortunately I'd already seen several in Muscovado close up, so knew what I was getting.

What are your likely colour choices? There are a few of us in the area with a range of colours - I'm sure you could arrange a mini-meet and a viewing!

Hi Martin

Colours I am looking at are Muscovado, Shark Blue, Black or Steel Grey. Think it was the grey I saw today at the supermarket and had a chat with the owners. Yeah if anyone has any of those colours locally, would be great to see them, otherwise I'll have to sneak round some dealerships. And thanks Dinski, will give your guys a call.

Glad to hear you have made the decision to join us

Hi Gillycat

Don't know where in the country you are but my Shark Blue arrived with me yesterday - available for a view if you find yourself near East Lancashire.

It does suit the car extremely well
