Hub spreader

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I have replaced the springs on my car before (about to do coilovers), and remember levering the hub with a screwdriver while hammering down the hub from the strut - pain in the a**!

I have seen some use hub spreader tool, which slot in and twist to prise apart - simple!

Have people used this one to good effect? : Laser tools 3396: http://www.lasertools.co.uk/item.aspx?cat=776&item=755

Or if theres anything cheaper/for sale/borrow...?

Cheers,

Mike

Ive used them before and it makes alot of difference when trying to get the strut out. If you had an issue getting the strut out last time then deffo worth getting one

I'll second that - I've done that job once without that tool then once with it.

Yep!.....I've got that tool as well....................DEFO well worth the money.........just use a short breaker bar on it and it levers the hub/strut unit easy to get out the damper..........right tools for the job and all that!!!!
