Water leaking into cab

Featured Replies

Water leak is driving me nuts. After rain – I “ sometimes” have a large pool of water on floor under pedals, and feeling up under dash, sponge is wet etc. However, this does not always happen – just about 50% of time.

I fitted new wings about a year ago, and they were not exact fit to inners, but cut and welded the appropriate part from old wings so I am pretty sure it is not this. Also the problem is when pick up is standing overnight, so I am sure it is not water being swished in when driving.

It does not always happen ( which is driving me mad) - I suspect rain must be blowing in certain direction , which does not make sense

Done all normal things like seal any small cracks or gaps in windscreen rubber with silicone etc

Spent 30 mins directing hose over front – everywhere – did not leak – at least not then. Possibly it builds up somewhere and takes a certain amount of time? Anyone else had similar and found cause?

Incidentally, I did have leak problem at rear - which caused problems but traced this to fact that a ride a trials motorcycle onto the back all time, and resulting wack when wheel hits back panel tends to open up a gap which then allows water into rear of cab - but this is fairly easy to seal , and then try to brake sooner!

I have the same problem with water in the foot well after lots of rain. I've heard that it's very common for the windscreen seal to leak so was going to try sealing it.

Touch wood no such problem thus far with mine + I've had two new windscreens in the last two years. I've heard windscreen seals are a common culprit so probably a good place to initially focus. Probably worth checking the floor pan and vertical joints/seams but suspect the problem's not there. You could try popping some food dye in water and applying to set areas, whilst noting if anything becomes visible in the cab. Painstaking I know but sometimes persistence brings results. Good luck.

you should first do a search for "water" in this section, only search in title.

many hits refer to your problem.
