No warm air ....

Featured Replies

Just noticed, that I need to raise the temp to 24 deg, to get some warm air through the vents.... I swear, this thing was working on before, even 19, or 20deg was blowing slightly warm air ...

Any idea what it might be, easy ways of checking it? Or just a trip to a dealer would save me?

Just a thought, but it might be 'summer'!

You are not the only person having problems with the heating system in a Superb :(

Have seen a few other threads in here about it (including my own), and a friend with a Superb also is having trouble with it.

My car is no longer covered, but as a good will gesture Skoda replaced the control panel in my car, and it had NO effect.

I am hoping that this happens to a few more cars and Skoda will be forced to find and offer a fix for the problem.

My skoda is still covered for the next 11 months, I shall take it to the dealers then!

@dippo: Summer? In Scotland? Yes, maybe it is, but it's still 12 degrees!

That's good at the moment.:rofl:

Just a thought- are your heated screenwash jets not working properly either? :giggle:

Climate control works in it's own way, you don't as such have control, if the car is 22 degrees ambient inside and you set it to 20 degrees it will blow cold air to reduce the ambient temp not blow 20 degree air regardless, hth.

We have just learned that the "Auxiliary Cooling Pump" on our Superb is faulty. The fault showed up as an error in the 60,000 mile service.

it is being replaced free of charge by our Warranty (which we paid for).

I am told the pump is electric and when it is faulty, it effects the heater in various unspecified ways.

Our heater is working, but we have had the perception is was "being a bit odd".

It's being replaced next week. I'll let you all know how we get on.

I understand how it works, but when driving with an outside temp of say 16, and having to set the car temp to 24 so as to get any sort of heat into the cabin. on 1 day, and the next having to set it at 18 to prevent roasting in the car, something is very wrong.

But as usual now, the dealer just plugs the car in, and if no fault shows up they have no idea of what to do to fix it :-(

I have had similar problems (another thread a couple of weeks ago). It was booked in at the dealer then I cancelled then thinking it was me as I put a temperature gauge near the climate control sensor and it showed the same temperature as the dial was set at. I did not notice any problems in the winter but now "summer" is here have noticed same issues as the other members, having to set to 23/24 just to stop the cold air blowing in (or shutting centre vents). I have not been able to identify a pattern yet in what circumstances it happens, but maybe ambient temperature over a certain amount. I previously had Toyota Avensis with climate control, that just worked, I hardly ever changed the settings.

my car is 58 reg and came with 1 year Skoda warranty, so I think I'll take it to the garage ... Especially that the 2500 mile trip with whole family is coming soon, so we might need that extra bit of comfort...

Where's the Glasgow based Skoda owners repair their cars? Henrys? or some other places? Thanks for some advice!

Wwrrrr.... was driving to Glasgow today, and all heating worked as it should. Then, I got back home, parked on a driveway and locked the car. Five mminutes later, my neighbour popped in to tell me that all the windows in the car are open and it's raining badly... I shut all the windows, and locked the car again, and it didn't happen again...

What the h.... is going on ??/

Basically you probably had the key in your pocket and sat down and pressure applied to the open button, like ppl do when they dial you on a mobile without realising.

Read that back to yourself before I explain it again Bry,

When you had to pump it up to 24 it was probably due to ambient temperature in the car, one day they sun may have warmed the inside before you got in, another day it didn't, you don't get hot or cold with CC, it adjusts what it senses, so if your inside is 16 and outside it's 8, and you are set at 24 it will hit you with full heat until it senses 24 inside, then you will get a mix of hot and cold intervals as it maintains 24. hth

When the drive is 150 miles and it just continues to blow cold air into the car? I actually turned off the fan for a time just to stop the cool air.

On cold mornings and the car has reached normal working temp but still blows cold at say a setting of 23, or other days it will be melting you on a setting of 17

On warmish days (when the ambient temp in the car is prob high) it will blow hot air in.

I know how the system should work, it worked fine for almost 2 yrs, I know that it is not working right now, and I know others are having problems, so there is something wrong with the system in the car, might just be a sensor, but something is wrong

Hoover the sensors Bry, they will go flaky if there is dirt blocking them.

I am more than willing to try it, any tips as to where they are located? I believe there are quite a few?
