Help me out with remap choices!

Featured Replies

Guys

There is so much info on here I can't make a decision! Car is 1.8T auto, 150bhp AUM (2004, 15k-miles).

After being so impressed with the bmw 330d remap, I really am considering going for it - despite the warantee issues! (beside K03s's sell new for about

jabba remap is custom thats why it take so long and cost more then other options, but you know its correct for you car and extacly what you want performance wise,

'as i'm ever worried about the auto box' assume you have an automatic and are worried about if the gear box will take the increase in torque? as a rule auto gear boxes are stonger then manual boxes... so i dout you woudl have anything to worry about..

I doubt you can have a custom map on an auto as they are very tricky to run on the RR.

Eddy,

It can be done. Mike of KLB fame has his mapped, IIRC with jabba and for the reasons above of not actually wanting the most. If I remember he's had little or no bother with the autobox and the extra power, maybe drop him (KLB) a message.

Hope that helps...however he may of had the mapping done by measure, adjust, measure out on the road with a laptop.

Cheers guys, I definitely think Jabba is the way. Iirc Mike did have his setup on the RR but it was apparently fiddly as the box obviously keeps shifting.

In case anyone is interested (or searching) the automatic (auto) box in the octavia 1.8T seems to be the 01M. I found a forum suggesting its design torque is 260lb.ft (about 350nm!) - so a 'standard' jabba remap should produce no problems.

I think 200lb.ft to be safe though! Standard lump is only 150lb.ft...

Anyway here's the forum: http://www.importperformancetrans.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=283&highlight=01m

Dont rule out Custom-Code from JBS.

what is custom code? (sorry if thats a stupid question)

Dont know about which mapping but as for the auto box you could put an additive

called Lucas Transmission fix, it stops auto boxes slipping under load and cost about
