The white Elegance estate has landed..........the pics thread

Featured Replies

After a relatively brief affair with a silver Monte Carlo, the new mistress has now taken up the mantle

So I've lost the sports seats, the MDI lead, the rear tints, the sports suspension and the black bits

But......

I've gained the estate boot space, maxidot, climatronic, cruise control, armrest (jury's out whether that's actually a gain), electric sunroof, rear park sensors, not forgetting the glasses storage compartment

So, enjoy the pictures

And one to show that it looks like it's on stilts compared to the Octavia

Looks good Bryan

Have to say, I don't think silver really suited the monte that well.

Now to change the wheels and get the Columbus fitted

I think these will look far better

Looks like a nice car.

If I was being critical (and I'm trying not to be) I would have personally gone for the sports suspension too.

I found it made my estate Fabia a real hoot through the corners, allowing you to carry more speed and was fine on UK roads for regular driving.

It was a pre-order, Richard, so I had to choose from what was available, or end up waiting umpteen months for delivery

I can always get a set of Eibachs fitted as and when, but it's a good suggestion, thanks

I did notice that you tend to sit ON the seat as opposed to IN the seat when cornering

Where did you get Columbus from Brian?

Where did you get Columbus from Brian?

It was an eBay purchase

(awaits the deluge of "they're all nicked" posts)

It all adds to the fun. Driven Briskly it's like hanging on for dear life.

Cars with more capability are less exciting at the same speeds. :D

I tried that before too.

Was fine other than I couldn't update it by disc (so couldn't get 7 digit postcode entry) and on long drives over 100 miles it slowly thought I was in the wrong place as it seemed to get the idea my heading was about one degree out.

Other than that it worked great and I just got used to it.

I figured it was a faulty system that came out the back door of the Skoda factory.

I should have remebered from when SWMBO was buying her 1.9TDi Sport

The only car available to drive with that engine was a Fabia 3 estate, and one of my lingering memories was feeling like you were going to roll off the edge of the seat

Cheers, Sam, I'll take yours and Richard's word for it

Any chance you could use your PS skills and put the Seat wheels onto the Elegance, please?

Thank you very much, that man

And the verdict is..............

..........much better, I think

That looks sweet

but they need the new skoda wheel badge put in them ;)

Looks tidy. Boot space is great in the estate. Swallows all my fishing gear and a big suitcase with no problems

Very tidy looking indeed - aftermarket alloys look the business also.

Nice one :)

I find the armrest to be the most useless thing I've ever had in a car. The seats improve a bit after some use, but they are not great for side support. Doesn't stop me keeping up on the runs though :D

The car looks good Brim. Those wheels does suit it it it will improve the looks. I think as it's a white car, painting/powder-coating them Black or Anthracite will make it look even better.

Oh, and leave the Midas touch alone on this one.
