£250 ouch.

£250 ouch.

Ouch indeed.

My Yeti's heading towards its 36k service.

What do they do for 250? (which is less than my wife's just paid for her 1.4 corsa service, I must add!)

Strewth!!

Mine was £195.42, and that included a headlight bulb.

What do they do? As far as I can make out, very little. Changed the oil and filter, fitted a new nozzle to the rear window washer jet. Trouble is, all the Skoda dealers in W.Yorks are the same firm - no competition.

Oil and filter Bob, the same as you, plus fitted a new headlight bulb and checked the adjustment of both headlights, plus washed the outside. Didn't even get the usual charges for things like screen wash.

You'll have to have a day out in Oswestry!! You won't even have to go through Welsh Immigration Control!!

Totally agree Bobdog, no competition,

Theres Benfield in Harrogate.

Double ouch!

Mine was £291 but that included extras such as brake fluid change, pollen filter and a litre of oil for topping up.

(£92 parts £150 labour then vat)

I guess I'm paying for the convenience. I drop it off on my way to work, they ferry me the final mile or so to and from work, and I collect the car and go home. I know others have said Simpsons at Colne are cheaper - but that means heading in the direct opposite direction to work for 15 miles, then having to come back again (and the reverse in the evening). Harrogate too would be heading way past then coming back.

Never mind - fingers crossed my exile in Yorkshire will soon be over and I'll be heading home to Norfolk and semi-retirement.

Convenience is good, Alex Lawrie Skoda collect my car and bring it back.

Just done my own, Oil filter £7.17

Pollen filter £13.06

Brake fluid 1ltr £6.53

Mobil 1 esp 5ltr £41.00

all filters and fluid from Skoda dealer, oil from Halfords. Not such a big Ouch!

What was the ferry charge back and for from the island though? :giggle:

Nice one Graham, I wondered how long it would be before someone spotted the island location. Hope the Gower was ok, weather wasn't brilliant, but the area is.

Trip to The Gower is NEXT weekend.

We know it well as we have friends who live in Killay.

Oh good grief no! I have an ex Mrs Bobdog, of the Welsh persuasion, whose grandparents ran a pub called "The Commercial" at Killay many, many years ago. They've long since left this world, but my scars have yet to heal!

Bob,

The pub's still there, not that I've been in it.

We prefer The Railway.

:) Wonder why?
