Jp1mp's 230bhp fabia vrs

Featured Replies

Evening people. I bought this fabia off kev from jabbasport(I also work there) as it was offered to me at a price I couldn't refuse for this spec of car, and I've also done some of the work to the car, so I've seen it progress to what it is now(which is why I bought it)

How it looked when I got it

I then decided I wanted to make it my own, so first thing was to put some black mesh in the hole in the bumper, and while I was at it paint the Intercooler black to give it a bit of "stealthiness". I also wanted to paint the alloys black, so did that with the rest of the bits

How it looks now

Legend! Glad this car went to a good home and not wrapped round a tree!

  • looks better, red and black go well, I didn't like the look of the exposed intercooler

  • Well thought I'd better update this, I've bought a Cupra splurged, just gotta get round to fitting it. We set the nitrous up on the rollers which came out at 259hp and 435lb/ft with one run doing 261

I also put it on the dyno at work to get a true power figure as the map had been changed since the last power run.

The results were:

231bhp and 377lb/ft without nitrous

247bhp and 404lb/ft with nitrous

Legend!

Glad this car went to a good home and not wrapped round a tree!

Thank you pieman. when he told me what he wanted for it, i knew i had to have it. I did wonder whether space would be an issue as i have a young daughter, but the pushchair fits lovely in the boot, even with the nitrous

It does look a lot better with it black. Kev wouldve done it when he had the car, but shall we say his get up and go had got up and gone

hopefully all my new cleaning products should have turned up soon, so i can give it a proper polish and wax as i think it looks gorgeous when its clean.

Looks hell of alot better, I have to agree I didn't like the look of it with the huge Pro Alloy FMIC sticking out of the front, looked like an afterthought lol.

What paint did you use to paint the cooler?

Bet it goes like stink also.

I used matt black aerosol, nothing special lol.

Yeah it does go rather well, and sounds nice also, especially when it hits the limiter :-)

Top looking vrs red and black go well.

How driveable is it with that kind of power? What kind of 0 to 60 times can ya get? A few vid of It in action would be good.

Brilliant!

Any idea of the exact spec of the turbo? It's a stage 3 GT1749VA/B isnt it?

Mikejay-It's actually really driveable(except in the wet, which is probably tires). It grips well, and pulls right to the limiter. I've not done any 0-60's yet ;-), will try and get some videos up of it when I get my new phone.

Vrs Joe- it is a stage 3 gt1749. I know the difference between this and the stage 2 is the larger vnt package, and bigger exhaust wheel. I will try and get an exact spec on it for ya :-)

Ste j- thanks :-) ive always liked the black and red combo. Just waiting for sufficient amount of time to t-cut, polish and wax it.

I might have to steal your idea of a black FMIC for my yellow Fabia. It already has black mesh but it doesn't hide much, I need to respray the black bumper inserts at some point so I might nip over the intercooler as well, and paint my fog lamp inserts. I really like the black inserts and details on that, and should look good on a yellow one too!

Do it mate:-) would look awesome on a yellow one. I did try the bumper on with the mesh but without the Intercooler black and it didn't look stealth enough.

Am i being a doosh here but what mesh did ya use on front fella? Mines rattly thin metal mesh and I've looked no end for something different

I bought mine off a Polish company on eBay. It's plenty strong enough for the job I want it to do, and was only about £15 delivered :-)

Many thanks for the road test today in your fabia. I was very impressed with the setup you have.Pulls really well!

If you want grunt then this is the way to go!!

Top man and top car!

You will be seeing me very soon!

Looks sooo sweeeet!!!!

Well the obligatory trs tow strap turned up today so gotta get that fitted, have also treat the old girl to some parada spec 2's and some new brakes. I've just gotta find the time and enthusiasm to fit some super pro rear beam bushes.

They do a fair bit of racing, so there can be a delay in getting a response.

Best to phone, but if no answer they are probably not there.

Ahh nice one cheers I have thought about that but as I'm in no rush to get it done I Thort id give them a fiew weeks to get back to me are they a proper workshop because again as I'm traveling I can't really leave my car.. + there's nothing like this by my house :)

Cheers Richard

Also as Rich ard said(thank you again) these have been a busy few weekes regarding the race season. As we speak they are currently in germany attending a race at the nurburgring. I apologise for the length of time it has taken to reply. they are back tuesday, so as Richard said, if you give us a call it would probably be sorted a bit quicker.

We do have full workshop facilities to do the job(ramps, rolling road etc) but if we did need to have the car for over a day, we are able to supply a courtesy car, if their is one available. hope this helps :)

Thanks man I have relatives in Lincoln so I can hang around in that part of the uk for a fiew days haha jabbasport just seems the best option and I want it just doing rather than bit by bit if you get me :)

Love that intercooler B)
