Re-Mapped vRS

Featured Replies

I got my fabia remapped a month or two ago, brilliant cant complain on the difference in power and speed! just one thing though, i thought it was supposed to improve your MPG.. mine really isnt, obviously im talking about a long steady motorway drive (still not as good)

Any thoughts??

Who was it mapped by?

Was it checked for fault codes before mapping?

What MPG do you normally see?

MPG won't increase obviously if you're using the power all the time.

Don't expect more MPG. If anything 1 or 2 mpg.

The remap will give more torque low down so that's the only reason why it might increase.

mines not great but i think you end up using the right foort a bit more. change gear before 2k rpm and go light on the throttle. Check your tires too and maybe a clean of the maf and air filter

i got a generic remapping by Evolution chips, seem to be really good to be honest..

yea they did check for fault codes before (all clear)

well on a good run now (driving sensible) im getting 54mpg max but used to be getting just less than 60...

haha yea its very hard to keep off the gas i have to admit!

Is that from the trip computer or actually calculated though?

trip comp..

Could simply be more accurate then post remap.

Yours is an SE right?

I've heard a lot of people say the trip computer wildly over estimates actual figures on the later cars.

mines a PD but ahh that would make sense, to be honest i did put 2 and 2 together and realised it wasnt doing as good as it said.

I mean a vRS SE. All Fabia vRS are PD engines :)

Check your real MPG with the brim to brim method.

If you're getting lower than what you thought, check boost pipes. Also check the air filter. Standard one should be replaced every year or 10,000 miles, regardless of what Skoda say.

Next likely suspect would be the MAF.

lol sorry mate!

ill do the old brim to brim way.. have to have a go! yeaa i always do the filters regulary

cheers for your advice anyway sam

Also trip computers can be pretty accurate. Just depends on how they're setup. Can be adjusted with VAG COM if wildly out.

What my trip computer showed..

Actually calculated after a few more miles and some town driving...

Brim to brim will be the best way to confirm.

Some remaps can put the trip out similar to tuning boxes.

A dodgy MAF could also be the cause. I had a couple of damaged wires. Once fixed my mpg went up. Use to get around 400-420 from a tank. Now it's 470-500.
