Engine warning light 03 Fabia 1.4 16v

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have recently purchased a 03 Fabia 1.416v. The car seems to run well but the engine warning light stays on.

I looked through the paper work and the car has had it's Map Sensor replaced and a new EGR valve in the last year.

I guess the last owner tried to rid the car of it's light but it hasn't worked.

It looks like it was taken to a main dealer to scan. Again they haven't solved the problem.

Should I take it to be scanned or live with it if the car seems to be fine?

Exactly same thing with the Fabia I had, the previouse owner ditched it because of re-occuring engine warning lights.

I got fed up with "Living with it" so got rid of the car.

Which engine code has that car got?

I haven't had a scan on the car so not sure what code came up.

You don't need to scan the car to find that out (not sure if a scan will reveal that - forgotten!), just look at the sticker in the boot wheel well, service record, or on the engine cam belt cover - you are looking for the BIG three letter code - the engine and trans are the two big letter codes, engine could be BBY or BBZ or ???

Hi,

Just had a look at the engine code it is BBZ.

Deets, would you mind telling me the p/n of the replacement MAP sensor that was fitted as it has been said that that part has been redesigned - so would get a slightly different p/n. I've cleaned might up and fitted an older than original secondhand one, but looking on the Magneti Marelli website, I can't see any referance to newer designs being made.
