My car is not very good on fuel. This is relative, it is the best economy i have ever experienced but it does anywhere between 33-37 mpg. So the poll is braketed in miles and MPG. Although in the fabia section any PD owner can poll on this.

My 1.9TDi does about 55-60 these days round town and 60-65 on a motorway.

But what about PD octavia owners, and also the 100bhp version wil give better economy than the 130 and the 1.4 better than that. Plus it depends on any mods that have been done to the car. then you have driving style.

40-45 I average anyway.

54mpg on a run... 48 day2day.

thats on a "breathed on" furby vRS with 40k on the clock and the old style leggy gearbox :D - and i dont drive like a granny

58 on a run, mid 30s blatting it, overall average in 55,000 miles is 45.3

That sounds very low - the lowest top-up I've had was 42.8mpg - best 52.9mpg - currently averaging 48.7mpg after 6,000 miles. these are true figures not the optimistic ones given by the computer.

Before I handed my car back in, I had a look on the average #2 computer and it showed just over 36 MPG average. Mine was standard, and I drive fast everywhere generally. I guess its not too bad of a figure all things considered, but I was led to believe it would be better than it was. That was one reason which figured in the reasons why I sold it.

LOL, so that makes the figures I was taking off the computer too high then?

So basically, I was probably getting nearer 30 MPG. Might of well just stuck with a petrol car in the first place ;)

my 1.4 16v does 51-52mpg on motorway, with average speed 70-80mph.

My Octavia 130 pd is on 50.9 mpg and 37,000 miles

My Octavia 130 pd is on 50.9 mpg and 37,000 miles

My Octavia 130 pd is currently doing 45mpg (calculated) at 36,500 miles. Thats driving nice on motorway for 100+ miles per day (55-70mph, M6 midlands rush hour 2x per day).

In discussion with Skoda about a number of things including decline in fuel economy. Used to be able to get nearer to 60mpg  Its been a steady decline since it was 6 months old (gradual increase before that). Long term average (2yrs, 36,500 miles) is now down at 49mpg, and falling fast.

Also having trouble with variable servicing - every 9,000 miles on the dot. Might as well be on fixed intervals. Have even had an independent car inspection done. I think I have a lemon, which is a shame, because other than the mechanical problems the car is perfect for my needs

All PD figures are welcome

Our Octavia 1.9TDi Estate(That's the lower power one) does 60-62 around town and up to 65 on the motorway. Over it's grand total of 40000 miles it has done 61.7mpg.

I'm not sure what PD is though, does that just mean diesel?!

Pumpe Duse (sp?!) It's just a different way of delivering the fuel by having a pump per injector, unlike the older style TDi's which I think just had a single pump?

Oh, and over 24k, mine has averaged 48.7mpg (according to my at-the-pump calculations) :D

Lately, I've been driving my rather modded vRS like a granny.

Filled it up to the brim, including the expansion tank.

Have now done 190 miles and the needle is still on Full :D And that's commuting to work with a rather respectable 56-58MPG :)

Both my Octavia 110TDi and Fabia 1.9PD100 are very similar.

Low 40's mpg around town.

Pushing 50mpg mixed driving.

And high 50's to 60mpg if driving like your Grandad on a run.

Cheers

I get around 48mpg average from my re-mapped 60,000 mile Golf.

The Fabia did 44mpg on it's one and only full tank so far (only 600 miles on the clock!)

These are calculated figures by the way, not from the computer.

OK, so it's a VW, but it's a big VW with the PD130 engine upfront and a poxy 5spd gearbox.

I don't drive like a granny, by any stretch of the imagination. Every member of family has commented on my motorway speeds, usually with "back off the throttle" being a major request.

Now, i've not worked it out, so figures from the trip computer are a bit suspect but....

before i took ownership 9 months ago, it had on Trip2 - 36mpg avg, with with 38K on the clock.

Now, with an extra 7000 miles on the clock, it's reading a happier 47mpg average. I assume this increase is due to the long smooth runs rather than it's being used as a round-town runabout now, rather than my right foot... ;)

8000 miles on the clock, worked out figues mixed driveing 49 mpg swimbo at the wheel just a bit less :D Caravan on back 36 mpg.

Used to get over 65mpg from Fabia 100Tdi

Must learn to drive faster

60,800 miles and counting and I average (with ladders on the roof and a boot load of tools and work related cr@p) about 44 overall but on a VERY steady run up the motorway it can easily hit the high 50's

Had my Furby 130 since end of June this year and have racked up over 2,800 miles since. I'm averaging just over 49 with a low of 42 and a high of 53. I don't drive like a granny either though most of that mileage is on fast A roads / motorways which will have an effect I guess.

I think the best i have got out of mine on a motorway run was 54mpg.

ive got a 1.9 tdi 90bhp. trip says 67mpg over nearly 1800 miles. last weekend i had the trip saying 89mpg over 367 miles.

still on the same tank and im at 516 miles with about a millimetre past the quarter mark.

well chuffed.

Since I bought it last week.

I put 38 litres in when I first filled it up. It's done 370(ish) miles. Assuming I can get another 38 litres in it, It'll have managed 44.something MPG. Driving has been a mixture of to/from work and one 70 mile trip to visit friends.
