Samsung S3 and S2 are one of only a few Andriod phone's that will natively support rSAP . its all about the firmware . if you update your phone to anything above ICS 4.0.4 you will have full access to rSAP with no problems .

Thanks Gerry. The phone is less than 3 months old and the outgoing quality of speech is such that recipients usually give up listening, those calls not being made from within the car. I will ask a friend to have another go at connecting it to the car's facilities. My ability in such matters is virtually non existent! Tony

updated firmware now 4.1.1 Jelly Bean) which allows rsap functions and uses external aerial.

After firmware update I needed to un-pair and re-pair my phone to get rsap functionality
