1.2 HTP Help

Featured Replies

Hey guys kinda new to this forum buisness so here goes,

I aquired my Fabia HTP from my father and found it a great little runner is done me well for about a year now minus breaking down and having my first spark plug change. Recently though my air recycler button (the one that stops fresh air from comming in) keeps turning itself on which is costing me fuel (as it is acting linke the aircon is on and sitting just under 1000 rpm instead of 750) :S HELP!!!

It shouldn't cost you any fuel, it's only shutting a flap that's it.

You can see why I'm concerned then lol

Do you mean the aircon is switching on?

The recirculate should not cost you any fuel or cause the engine to idle at 1000rpm as it literally just moves a flap to divert the incoming flow of air to be drawn from inside the cabin instead of outside.

If the engine is idling at 1000rpm then it would suggest a problem with the engine.

I know what it does that's why I'm worried lmfao but whenever I switch it off it idles at 750 again then after a few seconds it switches back on and idles at 1000 and it's not the aircon tried that one I've never came across this problem in my life I have noticed that when I switch off the air it stays on but doesn't idle at 1000 I'm thinking about disconnecting the battery for a while to reset the ecu might help who knows.

I was just hoping that someone here possibly came across this before :S

Problem solved thanks to pleb its the flap itself the gears on it have worn slightly and are causing too mich friction at the final run so a bit of grease and pressing the button a few times solved that one time for a beer  result!

And has that cured the 1000rpm idle problem too?

Where did you put the grease? On the recirc flap or the disribution flap?

I cleaned out my lad's blower on his 1.2 on friday and it did this on start up. I had switched the recirc on to open the flap on the blower to get at the leaves - then when we started it it idled at 1100rpm until i messed with the recirc and the air distribution settings, then it went back to normal.

So if you can let me know where you put the grease it will help us out, thanks :)

I'm feeling the air coming from the outside... How should i take care of this? The flap could be changed?

How do you know the air is coming from outside?
