Ask what you want buddy and i shall answer lol!

The springs lower is by 25mm, they are a lower stiffer spring but still retain most of the comfort.

They are quite crashy on bad roads, it doesnt help that i have front and back upper braces and a whiteline rarb on the stiffest setting, so my ride was stiff before these are not much worse.

They do however improve handling greatly.

I bought them 2nd hand off a member on here for £90 delivered, they were used for 700miles by the previous owner so basically brand new.

and me and my mate fitted them one sunday morning, took 2 and a half hours but a garage will usually charge an hour per corner at roughly £40 a corner so £160 in total!

Hope that helps!

Thanks for that. Trying to decide on getting some coilovers or just a set of these.

Do you have to unscrew that panel under the glovebox??

No buddy, just unclip the 2 clips on the plastic holder and pull the filter out!

Good update time!

Emailed angel tuning about a remap at 10am and tey replied at 12, i finished work at half 1, got a phone call from paul and angel at quater to 2 to say that he was in the area if i wanted the car remapped now!

Brilliant i thought and arranged a local place to us both! And he set on his way with his software!

Bad news he said, my car was already mapped (as i thought) but the map was crap, giving roughly 160bhp and 270lbs ft!

Now paul being the gentle man he is offered to put his map next to the one on the car for me to make a decision!

The one on the car was reasonable but economy was poor and it was spikey at parts! So i told paul to get rid of it and put his one on!

And vwalaa!

175bhp and 295 lbs/ft and a really really smooth map! So much easier to drive and more importantly to drive fast! Should also see atleast 50mpg instead of the 43mpg i get now!

Brilliant service, brilliant guy! Amazing map! So chuffed! All for £200! Highly recommended and will be back in future!

Well the other day i decided that i was fed up with my ipod running out of battery when in the glove box so te other day i bought a cigerette lighter unit off the bay and today set about a fix to my problem!

Firstly got a electrical chock box, cut the hole bigger to house the cigerette lighter unit! The original plan was to drill the glovebox but there didnt look to be a big enough gap at the back!

I pulled my iphone/ipod charger threw the already made whole in the back of the glovebox and pit the glovebox back in!

Now for the wiring, i pulled out the stereo, cut and crimped the red wires, and crimped the black wire to the connects2 earth wire and put it all back and hey presto...

I now have my ipod lead and charger tucked away neatly in my glovebox, very subtle now it also means i can leave my phone charging in thecar and no one will know!

On tomorrows to do list - short shifter mod!

Nice car mate. Decent to do list, glad map was good upgrade, im hoping my map is as pleasing.

You heading up to the vag meet in dundee monday night?

  • Author

Nah mate got training! Going to one on here at the wnd of the month in stirling thoigh!

dont think ill get clearance for that one. she doesnt know about dundee one so a sleekit fly by me thinks, will be tired after the run to awesome.

Thats quite a treck is it not? Angel tuning are good if you dont want to travel!

do angel tuning do free remapping? as im not paying for this one haha, £50 of fuel of course

  • Author

How did you manage that haha? What power you hoping to get?

I got a voucher from someone who didnt need it anymore.

well mines a 90bhp stock, ive fitted afn 110bhp injectors, decat, 1.8t pancake pipe, 2.0litre petrol maf, so i expect im currently 100 - 105 bhp ish.

Theyre map claims 25bhp and 35 ft lbs so if i get anywhere near 125-130 bhp ill be very happy with that, already mine feels alot better than stock torque wise.

Sorry mate clogging up your thread

  • Author

Its all good mate! You should come to stirling!

125bhp will be good power from the 90bhp motor!

well they say 115 out of a stock 90, so im sure ive added 10, i have to have. :wonder:

  • Author

Haha! You will have to let me know when its done on monday!

Will do buddy, no doubt there will be a gratuitous thread up

Very nice. Was your front strut brace easy to fit? Was it awkward with that black box above the offside strut (sorry don't know what the black box is!)?

  • Author

Vaccum box, 3 nuts to take that off, and 2 bolts each side to put the brace on!

Coming along very well! How do you rate the short shifter? I'm thinking this and a stiffer bush could make gear changes awesome!
