Cheers buddy! Pretty happy with how the car looks now!

The short shifter does feel a tad better but it looks alot better, gear changes havent changed that much but you can notice a difference!

Id was thinking about doing the gearbox mount bush to see if it helped more aswell!

I have the same code reader always comes in handy. (Hope you never have to use it though)

Heard good things about it and only £20!

Great looking car. Silver is best. ;):D

Did you get the code reader off eBay?? Are they any good??

  • Author

I havent tried it yet, amazon buddy, u281!

Cheers mate. Might be worth getting one. It is just a simple code reader that you then just do a search for the meaning??

Complete novice with these things. :D

Simple scanner, finds codes, deletes codes!

Yeah the scanner comes with a book that most of the time will give you an explanation of what the code means, but not always which just means 'google'.

Well ive had a company car for a few weeks so done some stuf to the fabia!

Fitted an allard delete kit which seems to hae worked well, egr was pretty clogged!

Also noticed my rear brakes were not moving freely so bought rear springs from tps and fitted them, have worked really well, rear wheels move nice and freely now!

What springs did you get and how much were they?

  • Author

Couple of quid each, rear caliper springs, they make sure the pad springs back!

Ah right brilliant. Had an advisory on my MOT about a rear caliper not fully releasing, and sometimes hear (or think I hear!) a quiet noise from the rear wheels, feels like they're not moving as freely as they should. Have you got a part number for them?

Well ive decided that the car is one mod away from being complete!

Early next year i will be buying a 312mm brake upgrade and that will be the car complete except maintaining it!

Couple of quid each, rear caliper springs, they make sure the pad springs back!

Sorry, more n00b questions!

Which way do the springs go? Is it hook at the bottom, coil towards the rear? Also, how do you buy stuff from TPS? Do you have to have your own business?

haha no, just walk in and ask for stuff and pay cash, they dont bother generally!

Look at kennypd130's Build page in the freedom members section for pics

Smoked quite bad but it had a bad map on it mate, wont smoke much more with a decat and a decent map!

Nice car buddy - the strut brace looks cool and is something I'm wanting to do with my Combi.

Earlier in your threads you mentioned cheap coilovers but if you'd like a bit of advice from a disaster I had when they failed after 10k - I got rid and put mine back on Bilstein B4's with H & R springs - a cracking set up with 40mm lowering but a "stock" ride... swapped every bush out for Powerflex also - awesome!

As well as the Allard powerpipe - I added the catch tank which tidies the smoking issues considerably (my VRS has been transplanted with the PD130 engine and transmission etc :)- she's been round the clock twice and as she appears unbreakable she deserved some major surgery to keep her tip top) I de-coked my inlet manifold which was v choked and after a couple of re-maps and a Viper to complete - the breathing issues were resolved.

The short shift idea looks neat also - may have to do that...

Your Cupra splitter fits better on your Fabia than it has to my Octavia - tidier.

If you want to see a pick of the ride height am happy to post - otherwise happy motoring!

Well no massive updates, hit a pothole and ****** a drop-link and my front arb bushes were also worn so quick look online, got heavy duty drop links from vw spares, and new bushes from eurocarparts, £65 all in next day delivery and i fitted them yesterday.

No more knocks, all other bushes etc are in good nick, may need rear bump stops soon!

Well was involved in a bump on monday morning, boy crashed into my rear whilst trying to answer his phone,

Good news - Getting a brand new bumper upper and lower, getting compo for my back, and my unborn baby is fine, o i so is the missies just her back aswell!

Unlucky Trev, some people are just idiots! Glad you're all OK.
