Green Cotton "Panelfilter" - Fabia RS

Featured Replies

Hi,

I, m going to order a green cotton filter, for my original "airbox"...That's what's called a "panelfilter", right?!

Today I ordered a "Cupra-Intake" and now I need a replacement filter...

In the begining I was thinking about "Open-Air-Kits"...but now I've decided to only replace the original filter..

Has "Green Cotton" got an official webpage?

Is "Green Cotton" the best filter for my tuned Fabia RS?? ;)

Are there any filters that are made for Fabia RS...The only filters I find are for like....PD100 etc..

Wich one should I choose for my Fabia RS?!

Thanks!!

Soooo I've read the forum...and now I've found the official webpage:

http://www.greenfilters.com/

But, there aren't any specific filter for the Fabia RS...

Hier

The green filter you need is the one for the 1.9 100bhp, it has the same airbox as the Vrs.

It seems to be the one everybody goes for (including myself), very few people have fitted cone filters.

I have the Panel filter from the web site above fitted to my Furby vRS, Most people here have that.

It is so easy to replace the OEM supplied with the panel. :)

Go on go for it :)

Be warned there is GB coming for the Fabia Green filter. :D

Hmmm...

Still don't know which filter to choose...

JR Filters , K&N Filters or Green Cotton Filters....

Are there any "Dry Induction" filters...which needs no "oiling"???

Thanks!!!

Green Cotton seem to be the common choice due their MAF "friendly" oiling.

I don't think I've heard of anybody running a foam air filter on a Fabia vRS.

ooh when when !!!!

best to keep an eye on the GB section! ;)

Ohhh GB stands for group buy! :D

I thought there was an invasion of europe planned or something :o

By the way Tobbe, nice car, nice avatar :)

I've got a Pipercross foam panel filter in my Fabia vRS. Didn't want to wait 3 weeks for a Green filter when ordering and the pipercross ones were in stock.

i have seen alot of piercross filters fall to bits so be carefull

If that happens I'll need to buy a Green one then. :D

just be carfull of the rubber been sucked into the engine thats all i have seen a good few on the clio's just falling to bits

Pipercross are made of foam, hence is plastic based. Plastics dun last in the heat......can u imagine how hot it gets in the engine bay ???

looking to choose between a green cotton or k&n panel filter? anyone know if this will affect MPG, Acceleration or engine noise?

Go for K&N these are by far the best, used them in many cars and lots of race bikes on the track and all work well, just dont over oil them , There is a myth going around about these. K&N and other companies have also done numerous tests on sensors being destroyed and all is rubbish, why would they put oil in if it kept destroying MAF sensors.

Very interting read ,check out all the MAF sensors that K&N checked out

what about noise jim? more of a growl?

I've not noticed any difference in noise. I would imagine if you put a PD160 inlet on you may notice a difference. You certainly will if you put a cone filter on.

I think there will be a difference in performance if/when you get it remapped, as the new map will utilise this extra airflow. It is the same thing with an after-market exhaust.
