European Cover

Featured Replies

Off to France soon and trying to decide what sort of breakdown cover to take out on the Yeti. I know it's already covered by Skoda Assistance in Europe but this doesn't cover repatriation in the event of accident or breakdown as far as I can see. If I get cover from AA/RAC etc. it seems like I am paying again for the benefits that Skoda Assistance gives just in order to get repatriation cover. Would like to know what others on here have done for holidays in France with their Yeti.

Cheers

Tim

My car insurance covers recovery in the event of accident, and I was happy with the Skoda Assistance level of cover in case of breakdown, so I saw no need to take out any extra.

You still get the use of a courtesy car if yours breaks abroad, and the car will be fixed abroad under the Skoda warranty.

As a work colleague found out, repatriation costs covered are usually limited and repatriation will only be covered by the 3rd party provider if the car cannot be repaired locally.

I am with Liverpool Victoria, who throw in fully comprehensive cover in Europe for up to 180 days a year, with all recovery options etc. for less than £20. I have been very impressed by them.
