VRS Value?

Featured Replies

I will be looking to sell my 08 vRs petrol/manual shortly.

I no longer need the space so am looking at a new FabiavRS.

I may trade it in or possibly sell privately.

Car is red and done 44k

Body/wheels/interior near mint, cam belt just done, four very recent new tyres.

Skoda service history, next service not due until 2014/56k.

No faults I'm aware of.

I'd appreciate any ideas of its value,as trade-in or pte sale.

Thanks,

John.

At a guess, 8.5k

Thanks, but I fear that's rather on the generous side..I've just found a free valuation site which says:

Dealer-£7359

private-£6988

part ex-6128

because of the recent tyres and cam belt I'd hope to get the p/ex to £6500 or sell privately for £7000 or a bit more...

Doesn't seem a lot but the market's not the best now...

Not an 08 but I traded my Red 56 plate Octy vrs estate on May 1st and got £5800 for it. It was in good condition with new (ish) tyres and 60000 miles on the clock.

Shop around and you may be surprised at the difference between the offers. Good luck.

Maximum probably around 7-7200

Jeezo, just shows how far prices have fallen

Before looking at this I would have said £7500 comfortably for a private sale, especially if it's in good order with good tyres, MOT, Tax and no need for a service soon.....

I paid £7500 for my Estate (40k, Blue, 2.0TFSI, 56 plate) back in Nov but I know they have dropped again since then.... It was fully spec'd up though so I was happy to pay it at the time.

I did the same two months ago, bought a brand new Fabia VRS, swapped in my 57 VRS PD 45,000, not many extras and good condition but not mint.Tyres were recent and belt done last year and got £8700 ( on paaper at least), plus a discount on the Fabia as they had registered it that day , so I am the second owner .

My car is on the dealer forecourt now for £10k.

type in google "vauxhall value my car" and get a free valuation if your going to buy a new vauxhall ;) it uses "cap" guide which seems to be what most dealers use now! hope this helps

Got offered £4700 for the car in the signature today. Granted it was Motorpoint though, needless to say I probably wont be trading there.

Any extras, cruise , maxidot , xenons , mate is looking

In fact I've just done it myself and paid the money because I'm flogging mine shortly (moving to a VW Transporter!)

My Thread on values

I would like to like to upgrade my vRS but am finding that the dealers are looking at what I call very minimal px prices due to what they say are that new model arriving soon.

My previous deal was on a 16 month old vrs that lost approx £1500 on new price paid.

I have a 9k mileage vRS CR. List New was £28500 and £24500 paid but find no more than £13-£14k offered by non Skoda dealers but pushed one dealer

Against Superb L & K 30.5K list to offer 16k on a £24.4 discount price .

Glasses price as of 05/8/12

Was Trade in excellent £14,820.00

Average £13,550.00

below average £11,930.00

Retail £18,350.00

Private £16,120.00

This price given after listing some 13 factory options fitted to the car.

The lesson I like to make is do not spec. your car as options are no indicator of value and auto trader named the Octavia as one of the best cars retaining some 50% of it new car price after 3yrs.

I shall keep my car and enjoy it Thanks Skoda but no thanks.

28.5k new....wholly Jesus! That's a hell of a lot of options!

I thought that - then assumed it was € not £, but then the values later stated were £, and there are apparently a good dozen options. I suppose if you add leather, nav and xenons you might easily bump the price by a good few grand?

I know the guide prices are low but do they take into account that many people won't have paid list on a new car due to discounts but more significantly the VAT-free offer that Skoda seem to have had running for longer that DFS's pay-nothing-for-four-years perma offer?!?

The new price of the VRS has really ramped up when you compare what the Mk1 car was first going for, £15,250 brand new drive away on a Black VRS is what my Dad paid and I remember it well, that was 10 years ago but they have gone up a hell of a lot more.... Still when you compare the amount a Golf GTi has also gone up I guess it's all relative.....

The other thing is there were only a few options available on the Mk1 so they were always going to be a lesser spec car compared to its Audi or VW cousin whereas now you can spec up a Skoda to have all the options you could get on an A3, Golf etc so I suppose that's good in a way......

Shame they're just not the bargains they were though

I still think £7500-£8k would be a good deal for your Red car though, put it this way if I didn't have mine I'd be happy paying that for it!

All these threads on depreciation make me depressed. Sometimes I think about swapping mine for a smaller more economical car but I'd lose so much in doing so. Mine is an 06/56 tfsi k04 modded to the hills and the most I think I'd get 'as is' is probably £7000. Very depressing.

I agree with harry-vrs, it is sad to see how much we are losing on our cars. on the other hand i would never buy or even look at buying a modded car as that tells me the engine, breaks and gear box have had a hard life. would rather buy and do the mods myself. What about the people who bought the the top spec mondeos for near 28k, and now you can get minted ones for under 18k under ayear old, now that hurts.

I was thinking about swapping my diesel for a petrol as I'm not doing the mileage as before, so the quest for performance is higher on the list.

But I don't think it's worth the change as parkers state px is about 12k.

Again mine spec'd up was 27k but I didn't pay that.

Depreciation is always depressing

Hi

I am looking for a VRS. If you could let me know the details (Xenons, parking sensors etc) maybe we could do a deal?

Thanks

This is exactly why we are keeping ours.............

we wanted to p/x ours for a superb estate but to say white / cr diesel vrs / dsg / xenons holds its value.....er not

my car is 18 month old 6000 miles and mint and at one dealer got offered 12.5 against a new superb

Can not put on site what I said but we are saving up for a new car and will keep the vrs until it dies

I paid £16,400 for mine so thats only £1,150 more. I wouldn't say that's a huge ramp up in 10 years.

Paid 12k for my 08 TDi Scout 2.5 years ago, some lower spec Scouts with similar mileage at same age are still asking more than that now on Autotrader. Depreciation = 0. Even webuyanycar.com still offer me 8k for it.
